Iβm not sure if this place has the same owner and chef as it did back in 2007β2010. It used to be one of my favorite restaurants to visit with my friends, and I was really looking forward to coming back this time, but the experience turned out to be very different. The flavor of the ramen and curry has changed, and the staffβs attitude wasnβt very friendly. I remember the owner used to be very warm and welcoming, but this time I felt unwelcome and even looked down on. It wasnβt just meβmy family felt the same way. I originally wanted to happily share with my old friends that I had returned to our favorite place, but it seems my expectations have unfortunately fallen through.

Oh my goodness the food here is outstanding and the portions are huge! Itβs an unassuming venue with well known musicians posters on the walls & the takes and chairs are basic so you donβt come here for the decor but you do come here for the food! The karaage chicken is fantastic as is the curry and the kitchen was very accommodating as I requested salmon with my noodles & it was well worth it! The salmon was cooked beautifully too - yum!!

Food were served fast, the taste and presentation upon serving is great. Staff are friendly and accommodating, they immediately greet you when you walk in the front door. The place is tidy, spacious enough for customers and the ambience upon entry is truly inviting.

ew fav ramen place in Chch, every ramen we got was fantastic, the Tsukemen, however, is not bad, but I wish the dipping soup was thicker and creamier, theirs was a little too light, watery, and too much like ramen soup to my liking. Everything else was flawless.

Portions sadly have reduced over time for price paid. Samurai bowl used to be one of the best. Now nott great value for money, and flavours sub par compared to other Japanese Ramen outlets.

Went here for dinner with my 5 year old daughter. She loved the chicken katsu and samurai ramen. The green tea ice cream was the topping at the end of the dinner. Great food - slightly up there for price but decent size. Service was friendly and welcoming. Very efficient too. Will be bringing other family members here.

I'm a huge fan of Cha Shu Men, ever since I had it for the first time in Brisbane at Hakataya in the malls. Ever since moving I've greatly missed it and naturally came to love Samurai Bowls Cha Shu, it's delicious and they're very friendly and accommodating to my picky-ness. The atmostphere is nice and relaxed, it's a great place to sit and eat with friends or family, and actually be able to talk with each other while enjoying delicious hot Japanese food, and they always say hello and thanks when you leave, and yeah the food is delicious, perfect saltiness, and always hot and it also comes out surprisingly fast!
