“Loved it but I think some of the trees etc need thinning. Most of the walking paths have thick hedge like vegetation either side and you have no view of what's beyond”
“Very nice place for family and kids to visit, plenty of room and activities for the kids. Bbq area to cook food. Clean restrooms with plenty of stalls so there are no lines. A lovely view of the lake to be enjoyed by all”
“This side of river walk and beach has become a go to place for a easy-going and peaceful evenings. In one word, lovely! Some snaps from winter and summer.”
“A very nice Walk along the river , scenic view, easy paveway , good for all ages , not a big park”
“Hayes Paddock is a delightful spot in Hamilton that perfectly balances natural beauty with a touch of local history. The park is beautifully maintained, offering a peaceful retreat with plenty of green space to relax, play, or have a picnic. The walk along the Waikato River is particularly scenic, and the views are simply stunning, especially during sunrise or sunset. What I love most about Hayes Paddock is the sense of community it fosters. The area feels safe and welcoming, with friendly locals and a charming, laid-back atmosphere. The nearby cafes are fantastic for grabbing a coffee or a bite to eat after a leisurely stroll. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Hayes Paddock is a must-visit. It's a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, offering a tranquil setting to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Hamilton. Highly recommend!”

“Beautiful campsite, popular with big families with kids staying for up to two weeks in big tents, dog friendly, water only from the river. Lots of nice day walks to do in the area, the Windows walk is worth it!”
“Birdsong, natural beauty, an easy path, this is a fabulous walk. Perfect bike ride for 5 year olds. Dogs allowed, on leads. Surprises provided by creative maimai and artistic fairy houses. Picnic areas by the main car park and rest seats around the lake, allow us to soak in the views. Loved it.”
“Awesome little look into a time that’s not ours. Ride on the car or take a family snap on the porch either way it’s a great back drop for a lovely photo”
“Amazing time always go down with my dog one hundred percent recommend”
“It was Amazing to see a mini real steam locomotive”
“Lovely little trail that you can walk and make more challenging by going up the little hills or keep it easy by just walking in a loop. The views are breathtaking and there are so many different birds to look for!”
“Tauranga local, happened upon this reserve when my son was playing football at Waipuna - very cool, short walk to waterfall.”
“Ducks. Who doesn't love ducks. Oh and eels. Heck yeah eels and ducks. Bring bread. Or cooked rice if youre worried about the effects of bread on ducks. Bread is better then nothing though, dont believe the hype. Bread wont actually hurt the ducks its just not as healthy. Hope you enjoyed this review on ducks. Watch out for the angry goose. He's mad at the other goose. Maybe the other goose stole his girlfriend. I dont know. I dont speak Canadian. Hope this helps”
“A delightful free camping spot with the rolling surf beach out of one window and the lovely estuary out the other”
“Nice views out to Cape Kidnappers. Campers friendly. Bike track beside it. Nice fish and chips down the road. Great nearby cafes and winery. Popular at weekends. Only draw back, toilets only cleaned during the week.”
“Beautiful walk, must check it out here!”
“Lovely well maintaned gardens. Nice walk through”
“Had a pleasant afternoon with family & friends at the miniature Railway in Keirunga Gardens. Long weekend so food & drinks were available to buy. To ride the trains is $2 or can buy 12 ride ticket for $15. Nice picnic area.”
“Absolutely amazing hiking trail - we took a taxi from the city centre and got dropped off here to hike to Nicols falls. It was about a 15-20 minute hike, just make sure you take the left at the waterfall sign 300m into the track. Track was a little tricky and slippery even on a nice day - wouldn’t want to do the hike if it was raining as that would make it much more difficult. 10/10 recommend very peaceful and serene spot.”
“A very beautiful beach. Lots of dog walkers in the afternoon/evening.”
“Beautiful native bush loop walk, a little slippery in places but otherwise nicely undulating and easy to walk.”
“Very good place to have a barbecue with big family or friends. Or walk with your dog. And children will be happy to play here.”
“The campground is spacious and there are flush toilets open 24/7 just by the nearby playground about a minutes walk away. Easy access to beach and blueskin bay, nice and tranquil with good viewing areas for sunset and rise.”
“Nice setting for a meal, beautiful gardens to go wander around and spend some time with family. Food was superb, I think they didn't had their regular front of house team on as service was a little unsure of themselves. The brisket was top notch and filling. Good size portion for the price.”
