“Carolyn the host of Country Cottages was so accomodating of my parents. The location was perfect and so private. The cottage was roomy, perfectly clean and had everything you could need. The outlook was especially wonderful and there was an outdoor picnic table too. A fantastic retreat if your looking to get away from the business of everyday life. Perfect for a couple. “This place is so great it's hard to describe. Amazing location, with a fantastic view of Auckland in the distance. Very calm, very quiet, and to wake up with that view in the mornings is just amazing. I would recommend this to any couple wanting a romantic and relaxing getaway. Plus, Waikehe island is a fantastic place in general, a minor tropical paradise. Don't miss renting a car and driving around the island to visit the wineries.”

“It’s not often that a place you stay at ticks all the boxes, theres always something wrong or a bit weird, but not here. The Breakfast provided (with home made elements and local produce from growers markets) was excellent, the beds and pillows were great and super comfy (this is something I often find disappointing at hotels) , and the bathrooms were just like a 5 star luxury hotel. John and Kay + their friendly dogs were the perfect hosts, and in a way it was like staying with friends. They provided a cot and high chair for our 9 month old baby, plus made the main area safe for him to roam around in (and tolerated his yelling throughout the night) The surrounding bushland and the serenity emanating from it cannot be accurately described, just book a few nights here and experience it for yourself!”

“This was a lovely b&b experience. Karin, the host, is kind and such a joy to chat with. She will welcome you into her home and make you feel comfortable right away. Her garden is absolutely gorgeous, and a perfect place to take your morning coffee or tea, which is always available. I'd definitely recommend staying here!”

“Excellent care of both nervous cat parent and the cats themselves. The young woman I dealt with, both at drop off and pick up, clearly has an infinity with cats and I was super impressed with her handling of both cats. I've used this cattery before and will use again without hesitation.”

“We stayed for two nights at the beautiful Awa Retreat, what a lovely place to stay, the hosts Cathy and Murray are so friendly it is like meeting old friends, the apartment is clean and tidy and has all the comforts of home, the breakfasts are beautiful and the wild bird life just outside the property is just delightful. The location right beside the Mighty Waikato River is perfect, a stroll along the walkway was very relaxing and we enjoyed seeing the native trees flourishing in this pretty spot. We are happy to recommend Awa Retreat and will stay again next time we come to Hamilton. Thank you Cathy and Murray for opening your lovely home to us. Cheers Joanne and Peter”

“Loved it. The owners were amazing, the place is just lovely and so relaxing. We stayed as a sports team and we seamlessly fitted onto the rooms, the kitchen, the lounge and the dining area. Other than the parking being a smidgeon tight, you can't fault the place.”

“The villa we rented was really clean and in a great location facing the lake. The host was really gracious and always available for what we needed. The place was well stocked with extra pillows and blankets, kitchenware, and fans in every room. The only thing that was disappointing was that the geothermally heated spa on the resort grounds wasn't warm by evening, though this isn't in the control of the Twin Lake Villa managers.”

“It was so nice and quiet. Only 15 minutes from all the activities, you have a quiet and relaxing little country cottage. It is so cute with plenty of room and lots to do for families with kids. We had farm fresh eggs each morning (our hostess let my daughter gather the eggs from the chicken coop, which was very cool) After spending all day running from one activity to another in Rotorua it was so wonderful to come to our quiet little house and soak in the hot tub! We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Rotorua.”

“Awesome accommodation in a renovated old home up a steep driveway off Cargill Street. Cosiest room on the 2nd floor with views across the city to the Harbour. A mid winter stay but toasty warm, comfy bed, desk, armchair, jug, microwave and fridge in room, and piping hot shower across the hallway. Great value for such an economical price, a quick walk to the central city. A find!”

“Our wonderful experience at this lovely motel was just magnificent!!! Not only was it less than a 30 minutes drive from Manukau (where we reside) but it was so easy to find :-)). Our given room (no# 1) was clean, comfortable, quiet n worth the money we spent to stay here!!! Tony (the owner) helped us alot n was such an awesome host :-)) thank you!!! We'll definitely visit here again soon .... fyi, take your own alcohol as the nearest liquor store isn't near lol ..... tx”
