Lovely hosts, cute dogs and great room with comfortable bed + modern bathroom! We had the most wonderful time! The location is close to attratctions like Glowworm kayaking, Hobbiton or the Blue Spring and we got great recommendations for activities from them. Best stay we had in New Zealand and will hopefully return someday!
We had a great stay with friendly and informative hosts . Very peaceful location with very comfy room and great bathroom. Great attractions nearby and we filled in 5 nights stay easily. Continental breakfast was quite adequate and the coffee was great. Loved the rural setting and the bird life in the surrounds. Thanks John and Kay for your hospitality.
Easy access from Hwy l, eco- location with various NZ native plants, ferns etc, owned by Kay and John, very friendly hosted. Wonderful, relexed two nights stay. Thanks Kay and John.
We stayed only one night but could have stayed many more as Kay and John made us feel at home, we were welcomed really nicely and everything there is on point, all very clean very comfortable and the garden and surroundings are very beautiful and quiet. Beautiful breakfast options with homemade products and lovely dogs for the cherry on the cake ! Grateful to have stayed there and would recommend it without a doubt !
It’s not often that a place you stay at ticks all the boxes, theres always something wrong or a bit weird, but not here. The Breakfast provided (with home made elements and local produce from growers markets) was excellent, the beds and pillows were great and super comfy (this is something I often find disappointing at hotels) , and the bathrooms were just like a 5 star luxury hotel. John and Kay + their friendly dogs were the perfect hosts, and in a way it was like staying with friends. They provided a cot and high chair for our 9 month old baby, plus made the main area safe for him to roam around in (and tolerated his yelling throughout the night) The surrounding bushland and the serenity emanating from it cannot be accurately described, just book a few nights here and experience it for yourself!
A very quiet and beautiful place to stay. The accommodation is simple yet comfortable. Just be aware if you are allergic to dogs (like I am) there are four dogs that live in the living area/kitchen/dining area that you will be sharing the accommodation with! John and Kay try very hard to provide the best experience possible and really like to interact with the guests at breakfast time. The only reason I give it 3 stars is due to the dogs as I have never liked sharing furniture with animals and I don't feel that this aspect of the accommodation is represented particularly well in the information provided. If you love dogs then you will love the place
