Lots of hikes, beautiful calm water stream and lots of shady areas. Don't forget to visit the caves and the tallest tree!

Beautiful place....few options for walk as well. We only went for a short walk from car park to the campsite.

Decent campsite and long drop. Easy access to other associated walking tracks. Good swimming holes but water is cold post autumn till spring.

This is a great campsite! It is a large open space surrounded by trees and open portion of rolling farmland with plenty of room for campers/hikers to spread out and set up. Three long-drops available is a nice touch for those that donβt appreciate a squat in bush. There are rubbish bins set up around the edges of the campsite and by the long-drops. There is a large fire pit for your cooking and warming pleasure. The Kaniwhaniwha Stream running right next to the campsite provides a water source for drinking and cooking (needs to be boiled for 3mins!) and great refresher after a good walk/hike. Iβve found a 5-10min soak removes muscle tension and even headaches! The Limestone Caves are a nearby and even though itβs a short trip through them itβs worth the experience. I highly recommend this campsite. You can take your kids there or escape on your own or with friends.
