Auckland County Cottage is a wonderful place to stay for a relaxing holiday. The surroundings are calm and peaceful, with excellent facilities and a warm, friendly welcome from the owner. I truly enjoyed my two-day stay there and highly recommend this lovely cottage to anyone looking for a comfortable and serene getaway.
I have stayed here several times. The host is helpful and I feel relaxed staying here, with my busy work schedule, its a nice place to unwind.
Carolyn the host of Country Cottages was so accomodating of my parents. The location was perfect and so private. The cottage was roomy, perfectly clean and had everything you could need. The outlook was especially wonderful and there was an outdoor picnic table too. A fantastic retreat if your looking to get away from the business of everyday life. Perfect for a couple. We just loved our stay. Totally quiet. Saw 5 satellites and 1 shooting star from the spa pool. Great host. Had a glass of wine or three sitting in the deck chairs enjoying the views, afternoon sun shine while watching the Tuis hopping from branch to branch.

Beautiful secluded spot. Lovely to see native birdlife and relax on the deck. Very warm and cozy. Just what we needed for a wonderful break. Clean, comfortable and modern.
I stayed in 3 places, within 3 weeks, just south of Auckland about 40 minutes. This was by far the most comfortable, and private accommodation. It was blissfully quiet the entire week. Total privacy, and the hot tub all to myself each day. The view of the countryside was stunning, but what really blew me away was that you can see both oceans from the deck- specifically the Manukau Harbour and Hauraki Gulf. Its perfectly positioned to see sunsets. Most importantly in winter- it had a heat pump. I'm very careful to rent places that have "heat" listed in the amenities, but the other two places I stayed were falsely advertising. So this was the only place I stayed where I didn't freeze at night, (I don't like to keep a space heater on at night). The owner has the kiwi hospitality of "nothing is too much trouble". She invited me to her home for steak dinner, and it was one of the best meals I've ever tasted. She even helped me find accommodation in Auckland, when I had to move closer to the city.
Had a really enjoyable three nights in Fantail, very comfortable, clean and well equipped. We were playing golf at Windross Farm which was only 10 mins away and we loved eating at The Corner in Cleveland..... hope to return at some point in the future.
