“Such a lovely playground! Smaller area suited to younger children. Lots of shady spots to picnic. A nice little track for riding bikes too!”
“We had the best family holiday break staying in the motel units at Orua bay, despite the weather. The lovely hosts made us so welcome and catered to our every need. The extended family especially enjoyed family games of cricket on the lawn when the weather cleared, the setting was amazing and well worth the drive out. Thankyou so much for making this a wonderful family weekend away.”
“My parents actually live here in their own home..i love visiting them!..It is very well thought out and maintained and has a great feeling about it. 9/8/24..visited today..just so impressed with the great job Rob has done with this place!.. Such abig turn around from when a friend of mine lived there 20 + years ago.. Hats off to you for a top notch place!”
“Just went for a one night camp trip to check it out, what an awesome little camp. Free to stay, hot showers and flushable toilets. Some people complain about the toilets but they were hygienic and clean. Floors just need a sweep now and again. U need to take ur own water as the water used for showers and toilet sink is lake water. They have a rubish and recycling bins too. A cute little jetty and a boat ramp. U will need a permit if u want to stay for 2 days or more. Lived this place and def going back.”
“Super clean & tidy. Great pools at 3 different temperatures. Lovely people who run it & the gardens were amazing. We only live 20mins away but will definitely be back.”
“We booked a powered campsite for a night on a whim at the end of October and had an incredible time at Sapphire Springs. We ended up getting the entire pool area to ourselves for an hour before it closed since it was midweek. Excellent clean facilities, and the woman working at the desk very kindly gave us tons of recommendations for our travels. Would love to camp here again!”
“Fantastic location and things to do! Heated pool, park, trampoline, giant chess board and a big screen and bean bags. Our room was great! Comfy bed, kitchenette had everything we needed and the fridge freezer was a nice size for the 3 nights stay. Awesome view of the Moana from our sea side room. From what I can see the other rooms look just as good. We stayed for the Mana Kuratahi kapa haka 2025. Our kids also loved it. Would definitely return and recommend to whanau and friends.”
“LOVE Orewa Beach Holiday Park! Such a great location, great bathrooms and showers. Lovely games room and kitchen. Always a great visit!”
“Fantastic walking tracks and best of all your dog can come too Alfie loved it.”
“Really good campground, friendly staff, has God toilets and showers, kitchen and laundry”
“Great experience. Check-in was quick. Park is huge with lots of space between campers. Kitchen, BBQ, and washrooms were brand new. Laundry takes 2x $2 coins per machine. Overall great stay would recommend. Recommendations for park: double sided dump stations to allow more efficient departure times”
“Omokoroa Campsite rating TOTALLY UPMOST QUALITY. Amazing Campsite and such an enhancing Campsite. Latest developments just WONDERFUL. The owners are immensely wonderful and everly caring and helpful.”
“Nice little spot .... On the beach ... Only a few spots.. Had a stunning view out my camper... Camped with family kids and dog enjoyed it . The playground next door kept the kids entertained... And the nice beach walk kept mom and our doggie entertained!!! Dump station just here also so we could fill with clean new water and dump the grey water.”
“Stayed here for 1 night in a 2 bedroom unit. Excellent place; clean, modern, well equipped and comfortable. Great location and the included breakfast was a bonus! Staff in the office were excellent - welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.”
“Karen is amazing and Ed's Cafe is now open and what a spot to sit and enjoy the vibes and the view, A real community hun”
“It is a super fun place to have a holiday and really close to get to I highly recommend this area for a fun camping ground.”
“We stayed at the Waihola holiday park in our caravan for a weekend. Facilities on-site were all clean in the kitchen and bathrooms. Happily use the amenities if needed. Great view of the lake. Our powered site was perfect for us. Overall a great stay”
“We had our original camp site which was booked a year in advance cancelled last minute for labour weekend due to council pest spraying. After years of planning our family camp, we were desperate to seek urgent accommodation for our large family (100+). I phoned the Clark’s beach holiday park the week of labour weekend and the owners were Amazing! They heard our cries, they catered to our last minute request and had done their best to cater to all our needs and they delivered - truely angels! Thank you so much for your kind hospitality ❤️”
“I haven't been there in so long, since 1990ish but my childhood memories of your park were so awesome, we were safe to run round free and unsupervised in our ever expanding packs, (tho it was harder to injure 80's children) so many families in the summer and everyone, staff and patrons were all lovely and courteous. There was tree swings, n family movies at night played on giant projector screens that all the kids watched from duvet+ pillow forts on a grass bank before bed. The prickles were my least favorite thing, but we stayed in our giant tyre tube's in the creek most of the day. I love so much the refusal to engage nasty insult comments. Those 30 yr old memories are still probably my best n happiest of camping as a kid. I hope the legacy review isn't out of place.”
“Wonderful staff in the office! A small and peaceful campsite, near the beach. Probably the best water pressure I've ever seen for a campsite shower too”
“A great area, owners are super friendly and the amenities are nice. Would definitely recommend.”
“Nice safe quiet place, very friendly, small walk to toilets. Had loo paper and soap. Bbq and outdoor gym, free to use.”
“Stayed one night. Clean tidy room. Only issue is the walls/doors arent very sound proof. Could hear the neighbour's talking outside in their car which was parked right outside my door. They weren't talking very loud but could still hear them.”
“Our family of 7 went for lunch. We were seated quickly without a reservation. Our orders were taken, and there was something for everybody, including the kids on the menu. The meals were served quite quickly, and all of us agreed that the food we had was delicious. The staff were helpful, casual yet professional. The beach views from The Flat White were to die for. Would we go back or recommend this cafe to anyone. Most certainly.”
“Lovely, simple place to spend a night or two! It's travelers but also permanent residents here. We had a light flight and had to drive with our camper van from Auckland and wouldn't make it before closing. We called them up and were told it wasn't a problem we would be a bit later, WICKED! We arrived and were warmly greeted by one of the owners, Maxine, who friendly enough gave us a few shower tokens for free. Her husband Roy would come by later to give us our change and stayed to help out with some Q's we might have about our transportation. Turned out he built the things for over 50 years! We had a good chat and then had a pleasant slumber. To be awoken the next morning by chirping birds, lovely! Was our first evening in NZ, was a lovely start to our holiday being greeted and treated so kindly, thank you guys! ”
“Rhian Lang, the on-site manager is super helpful, someone who goes an extra mile. The team is very thorough with their check in process. The park although well-located right in front of the shore, it's a pretty 'packed' as they try to squeeze for more occupancy. Very little space allowed in between parking lots hence less privacy.”
“What a lovely stay! Compared to the stay we had last year the place is getting better and better. The decor is dated but clean and tidy. Fun playground for the kids and swimming pool with shade! Management were more than accomodating for our large family. We will be back next year.”
“Only free car park overnight for NSC. Pretty cool spot, in front of the beach, 2 flush toilets cleaned every day, full of rubbish bins and fresh water. ONLY 8 SPOTS and 2 NIGHTS. Around 7.30pm a security guy checks all cars and plate numbers. You will find some people parking and walking around, some of them a little bit rear but is all good, they just want to have a chat. (It should be prohibited for SC as they have a much bigger spot 5 blocks ahead)”
“We had a powered site for two nights (early October 2025). The bathrooms are very clean & tidy (plenty of toilets and showers). And there's a large kitchen, with a seated dining area. The hosts are very nice. Oh, the location is just behind the beach. And the caravan park is perfectly located = short 8min drive to the city (easiest parking for motorhomes is directly across the train tracks, from the Dunedin train station). It's a quick walk up over the tracks to access the train station AND the city centre. And 30min north-east of the caravan park is the Albatross Centre (worth going to). There's a "coastal route" and a "plateau route" = both are the MOST scenic drives you shall ever do in your life.”
“Beautiful country estate to escape the city and contemplate in silence”
