We're disappointed to be cutting our stay short. We hadn't realized our campsite was right next to a busy walking path, and the gravel wasn't ideal for tent camping. The sites felt cramped, and the dilapidated fence, with its protruding screw, posed a safety risk for us and the kids. If you enjoy early morning wake-up calls from passersby, this might be your spot... but not for us. On a positive note, a friendly staff member was kind enough to provide tarpaulin to protect our tent from the gravel. Internet didn't really work.

Is fine for a one night stay getting into and out of Auckland, located close to shops and many takeout food options. Staff member we found helpful. Facilities quite reasonable, good pressure in showers and they are not paid or timed. Very crammed at full capacity so in my view not somewhere you would laze around for a few days particularly if traveling with kids.

Went to visit South Island friends in their motorhome at Takapuna Beach Motor Camp. The camp site is awesome, right on the beach front and walking distance to shops. In fact we were able to order fish and chips from a shop right on the beach front next to the camp entrance. The site only cost $65 a day with good bathroom facilities and cookhouse available. Highly recommended.

Rhian Lang, the on-site manager is super helpful, someone who goes an extra mile. The team is very thorough with their check in process. The park although well-located right in front of the shore, it's a pretty 'packed' as they try to squeeze for more occupancy. Very little space allowed in between parking lots hence less privacy.

Location is awesome. Facilities are dated and dirty. Men's bathroom has puddle since yesterday and no one bothers to clean it. Powered sites are tight as, so think twice if you have a big caravan or motorhome. Go to a TopTen camping site if you can.

Management here was above awesome. (Franz! Hopefully I spelled it correctly) We stayed in a camper van and call for a last minute booking and they had no problem getting us a spot for the first night. The second day we had to move to another site. ( Site 1 BTW best view in the park)They moved the van for us so we wouldn't have to wait to start our adventures. Would definitely recommend this place!

The only good thing about this place is the location (view out over the water is beautiful). For the number of sites the kitchen, toilets and showers are no where near big enough. The kitchen had 4 small electric hobs to cook on. There were 4 showers in the ladies which were so dirty, mouldy and dark. The toilet/shower blocks were generally dirty and run down. Probably the most run down showers I've used in a month of camping in NZ. You may be planning a renovation but until it's done don't charge $60/night.

Lovely little campsite. Sites are quite tight to get in and out of but we managed okay. We paid a bit more for a beach front site which was amazing as the beach is a hop away. That does mean that you are right on the public pathway so it can be a bit noisy with youngsters passing at night or loud people chatting as they pass in the morning. But nothing too bad. The campsite itself was quiet overall. The toilets and showers were clean with nice hot water. Nice disposal area as well. We had to back in so our bed view couldn't look out to the sea sadly. Also close to nice restaurant for coffee, cake and ice cream and within walking distance to Takapuna with nice venues. Also a lovely long Takapuna beach right nearby.

Beautiful place! We are staying for the weekend in a cabin. Sure it's definitely older but it's super clean, close to lots of restaurants etc and the beach is beautiful. I don't find the older bathrooms and kitchen a problem. True kiwi camping! Definitely recommend if you want an authentic kiwi camping experience.
