   The facilities are quite basic, and privacy could be improved. The garden landscaping is rather ordinary, though the air is fresh, so there was hardly any motivation to take photos. Its main highlight is the location, as it sits next to a lovely park.

   Great experience. Check-in was quick. Park is huge with lots of space between campers. Kitchen, BBQ, and washrooms were brand new. Laundry takes 2x $2 coins per machine. Overall great stay would recommend. Recommendations for park: double sided dump stations to allow more efficient departure times

   Just here for the night and Rose in reception was super fun and helpful. Biggest Top 10 I feel that we have been in. Everyone was so spread out and 4 kitchen, bathroom, laundry, shower building that I could see. Everything was so clean and tidy. Beautiful spot. For the kitchens need to have your own pots and utensils as nothing provided. Big playground, lots of grass for running around and the beach was not too far off. Close to Hwy 1 as well.

   We were recommended Spencer Park by some travelling English bikers we talked to at another Top 10 camping ground. They had been looked after well when arriving wet and on motorbikes intending to camp but were given a cabin. And our it did not disappoint. We had a 'basic' cabin, recently renovated very clean and comfortable. Only improvement would be an insect screen on the windows. The rebuilding of bathroom/kitchen facilities was well underway so they had provided excellent plumbed showers and a large very flash 'temporary' kitchen with outdoor sheltered decking. Looked brand new and very inviting. We didn't use the large kitchen as we could walk under cover to a small kitchen two doors down and a lovely bathroom three doors down. The bathroom had toilets with a modern upgrade. We thought Spencer Park was 'punching well above it's weight ' compared to it's top 10 rating.

   Top 10 at Spencer Park What a fabulous place. The staff are fantastic, so kind so helpful and just lovely to talk to. Always smiling and so thoughtful. We have been blown away by the staffs kindness to us whilst our motorbike was being repaired. We have stayed here more than a week and so impressed how well this campsite is set up. It’s a huge site but everything is super clean, well organised and signposted. The grounds are beautiful with lots of stunning pitches throughout with huge trees lots of wildlife and wonderful places to walk all around the campsite with wetland reserves and the beautiful beach just a few minutes away. The site has fantastic kitchen and shower set ups that are super modern with everything thought of to cook a nice meal. Great washing up facilities, super clean bathrooms and showers - I can not fault this place. Cleaning is of such a high standard that it just makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. All of the staffing team are so friendly and helpful. Rubbish is well organised for recycling and bins emptied regularly, love the boxes for sharing if you have food left over at the end of your stay you can leave for other campers. This is wonderful and stops wastage and brings more of a community feel to the place. We camped in our tent and stayed in a basic cabin at opposite ends of the campsite. Both areas are truly wonderful. Thank you so much for looking after us and making us so welcome. We can not recommend this beautiful campsite enough.

   Nice quiet self contained unit (late winter), away from other cabins/sites etc. Lounge area and fully stocked kitchen for self catering but no dining table. Heat pump and tv in lounge, tv in bedroom also. Outdoor table and chairs, large sun umbrella and barbecue all on a large partly covered deck area within an enclosed private outdoor space. Bedroom - comfortable bed but basic room - bed, chair, side tables but no lamps by bed and no heating in room. Would still happily stay there again

   We chose this campground as we are Top 10 members and had a planned stopoff in Chrisrchurch during our round trip of the south island. Unfortunately this Top 10 site is nowhere near at the same level as any other Top 10 sites. It is a huge lot which unfortunately placed us very far from the toilet and kitchen facilities to where we were advised by the staff member we could drive there. Not an ideal solution when you park up for the night and set up your camper. They also advised they were pretty sure we wouldn't get stuck, but if we do to call them. After finding our spot, sitting for 5 minutes and considering our surroundings we decided that it wasn't for us and that we would find elsewhere to stay. The staff on site suddenly became very untrained and didn't know how to refund. After 10 minutes of them asking each other if anyone knew how to refund, and then if anyone had the managers phone number when no one knew how to do it, I gave up and left. Sad to say I definitely would not want to stay there again. With the knowledge that their toilet block had burned down, and then witnessing the lack of skill of the number of staff on site, it is not what I would consider a safe space and will be recommending to Top 10 that they reconsider their involvement with this site.

   Spencer Park is an amazing place to stay, especially if you're looking to host an event like Eastercamp. I have had the pleasure of staying there both in tents and in the cabins, and each experience has been fantastic. The park itself is beautiful, with plenty of green space, a lake, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The facilities are top-notch, with clean and well-maintained cabins, showers, and toilets. But what really sets Spencer Park apart is the staff. They are incredibly friendly, helpful, and great to work with. They go above and beyond to make sure that everything is taken care of and that your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. In fact, I was a part of the teams that have Eastercamp at Spencer Park several times now, and each time has been a huge success. The staff are always on hand to help with anything we need, and the facilities are perfect for hosting large groups of people. Overall, I highly recommend Spencer Park to anyone looking for a beautiful and well-maintained park to stay in. Whether you're camping in a tent or staying in a cabin, you're sure to have an amazing experience. And if you're looking to host a large event like Eastercamp, there's no better place to do it

   For $22 per night as a solo traveler on a non-powered site it's somewhat okay. The kitchen offers nothing but a fridge, freezer, sink and some stoves. There's two sheltered benches and tables next door, which is ridiculous for a camping ground that size. There's another lodge house, which was occupied by a school class when I was there. Thus, I was missing a common area. The bathroom facilities are not clean at all. There are hairs on the walls and the floor, especially in the shower. It's disgusting. Furthermore you have to purchase WiFi at the reception, as it's not included in the price. Would'nt come again.

   Always a great place to stay. Our cabin was clean, well equipped and spacious. Shop was a little under stocked imho, but I guess they know what sells. Cabin was really hot, so take a fan in hot weather.
