A great area, owners are super friendly and the amenities are nice. Would definitely recommend.

The worst campground Iβve stayed at in New Zealand, possibly in my life. We arrived at 5:15 (shortly after the office closed at 5:00). The sign on the front door said to call a number to reach a staff member if needed - which I did, as we needed to know which campsite to park at, whether there was a dump site on premises, etc. I tried calling the number but the call wouldnβt go through. I texted the number as well, no response. Sent an email to their email address, telling them that my call wouldnβt go through, still no response. Finally, after weβd already checked out the next morning, got an email reply saying βIf you had called into the office you would have seen the host number on the door is different to the office number.β Iβm honestly not sure what this even means, but in my email I told them that my call wouldnβt go through, so Iβm not even sure how this is relevant - and it certainly didnβt answer any of the questions I had in the body of the email. Anyways, the campsite itself was a wreck. There was a small map on the office door telling us a general area to park, but no markings or signage on any of the camp spots. Just a hilly and uneven patch of grass somewhat near the power stand. The showers were gross - the water had a strong metallic odor, similar to unfiltered well water. Being in the shower for 20 seconds made you smell like a bag of rusty coins no matter how much soap you used. After about 2 minutes, water pooled up, the drains completely clogged. The kitchen smelt even worse - there were multiple backpacks lying on the floor that made the entire area reek of body odor. There was old food all over, dirty dishes in the sink and on the stove, strange piles of coins, etc. The smell was so bad you couldnβt be in there for more than a minute, even after opening all the windows. The βcleanβ dishes were disgusting, we had to thoroughly wash every item before use - cups, pans, plates, etc. The issue was that this sink water, too, reeked a metallic scent, so all of our food and drink tasted like metal despite having been scrubbed with soap. On the walk from campsite to bathroom, there was old food all over the ground - orange peels, yogurt cases, etc. Overall, the place felt like a holiday camp that was abandoned years ago. Iβd be disappointed if this was a free campsite, but paying $50+ just adds insult to injury. If youβre looking for a place to camp around here, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, this place is disgusting.

Absolutely amazing place! The staff are so friendly and the cabins are lovely and comfortable. Plenty of space to accommodate a large group of people and heaps of fun activities to stay entertained! There are also amazing camps every school holidays for teens and kids! Such a cool opportunity to get your kids off their phones and into nature! Iβve been coming to this place for 3 years and I donβt plan on stopping anytime soon.
