“Bell Rock at Boundary Stream is the most insanely beautiful place in New Zealand that almost nobody has been to. Even local people, I show photos to, and they are stunned. It's like New Zealands Grand Canyon, amazing rock forms. The bush walk to it is also surreal, almost deafening number of birds. An absolute magic place.”
“Had a wonderful evening with the combined brass bands of HB, Deco Bay Brass as well as the HB Jazz Club Band performing carols.”
“Nice place to camp, really chill and relaxing. There are toilets, water and shelter. Huge space to put your tent and/or park. You can also find some walks around the place and you'll see a number in case you want to rent a kayak to explore the lake.”
“Great short walk to waterfalls and really nice for a family outing. 20 mins walk to Te Ana Falls. Water is cold but It’s refreshing after hot summer walk. There’s another waterfall further up about 15 mins walk but be mindful that it’s only a look out and some of the track are about 500mm - 600mm you need to be extra careful especially when the ground is wet could be a little slippery.”
“Nice place I Live in Hastings but do travel through quite often”
“A fountain with a statue over it. Nice spot to stop on the shore line in Napier beach.”
“Me and my dog love the river, unfortunately after the recent rains the river isn't kiddie friendly this summer. No shallows to play in. Still nice spot for a picnic and throwing the ball or frisbee.”
“One of our favourite places to go in Napier! My 3 year old loves walking by the beach, even more playing with the different playgrounds on site and of course the ice cream near by!”
“This is genuinely such a nice walk. They are adding limestone so it’s an easy safe walk not muddy any more it’s a bit of mish up the hill but it’s only small a small hill and the trees and birds are delightful. I recommend this walk to anyone children adults and (fitter) elderly.”
“A short 15 min easy walk from the car park. A MUST VISIT place in Napier. Truly amazing place”
“Napier Beach is without a question one of my favourite beaches in NZ. The dark grey sand/stone beach design and the fact that this place keeps getting more developed and utilised is actually great for the region. I visited recently, and had previously visited in 2016 and the changes were insane. Normally I would complain about tourism growth but I would much rather visit Napier than the Mount, as it fits my personality more. This is a beach and town that really requires a stay at a bach or hotel as there is plenty to see and explore along the coastline that I have not delved into yet.”
“Great place to hire a bike & enjoy the waterfront on the flat paved paths provided...”
“I love coming here and feeding the birds they ate so friendly as you can see they love my noodle canteen”
“Wow what a Beatiful place to go swim and jump off the rocks.”
“Always a great time, we came to the circus and it was Magnificent”
“The lantern festival is wonderful. Beautiful lights, live music, reflections on the water. Great job. Loved it! Plus there are food trucks and facilities.”
“Hosted at the showgrounds there's plenty of shade and space, the stalls are a great range of gourmet food stalls, with food trucks and Hawthorne coffee for delicious breakfast options too. Dog friendly.”
“Nice views out to Cape Kidnappers. Campers friendly. Bike track beside it. Nice fish and chips down the road. Great nearby cafes and winery. Popular at weekends. Only draw back, toilets only cleaned during the week.”
