Very artisan, great cheeses, breads, sauces, etc. The best bit was the 'Garden Club HB' food truck! Skip breakfast and have one of their granola bowls - they're so good!
Used to be a destination of choice but it is no longer a farmer's market as much as a place to get a big breakfast. Many of the old faces have gone (still a few left) but it has lost its way as has been the case with a number of these markets. They start off as fresh food suppliers but morph into food eating sites with a range of stallholders trying to make a buck selling various taste treats (they think!). Of course the organic sellers will be there selling their spray free goods at 50% more $$$. And their supporters will be there as well but the others will have gone direct to sources for the products or heaven forbid, order online....
Hosted at the showgrounds there's plenty of shade and space, the stalls are a great range of gourmet food stalls, with food trucks and Hawthorne coffee for delicious breakfast options too. Dog friendly.
We had some extra time on a Sunday afternoon and decided to stop by this farmers market. They had live music which was enjoyable to listen to as well as fresh fruits and vegetables and lots of homemade unique foods. We had a Korean sandwich which was very interesting. Also, fresh juices which were delicious homemade cheeses, breads and honey. It was relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you have some time and want to taste some fresh local food.
Always great visiting the local farmer's market on Sundays. We had an extra bonus last week when the local secondary young enterprise groups were selling their products. Great local food. Highly recommend the fresh juices, pies and cakes.
Nice busy market, very tasty French pastries and artisan breads, very yummy fresh juices and other food options alkng with various goodies. Nice family outing with different live musicians.
Great place to go on a Sunday morning for a walk and a coffee.....with lots of yummy things to buy & eat...
This is the best farmers market we've ever been to!!! Have been three times now, and it never disappoints!! The photos of the food were all curated from the market and were very delicious! Grab a hot coffee, walk around and sample the goods, oils, breads, sauces, cheeses, meats and usually there is an amazing musician playing and lifting the vibe. Well recommended, heaps of parking too
