If you’re visiting Napier I would make the time and take a quick stroll through Clive Square it has been maintained perfectly with the boldest of colors across the park and some of the tallest palms I’ve seen. Well done to those who keep this as it is.

Nice place to sit and enjoy a coffee, shame the pond in the center, wasn't cleaned out and filled with clean water and beautiful water flowers, it would have made for the perfect photo back shot.

A nice park to walk and sit and listen to the chimes ring.

A nice, well kept park. Few seats around. Good place to go and to relax. In a good location, which is centrally located. Well worth a walk through, or to even sit.

Beautiful, tranquil park in Napier CBD. Lots of flowers, a couple of nice fountains, and a nice shady spot for when the hot summer's sun is out. It's a perfect place to relax and unwind after a morning of retail therapy, for those who like to do that sort of thing. There isn't a playground there, but enough other things to keep young kids entertained. Our kids loved just running around like crazy, and splashing around the water in the center fountain. Although it's not somewhere if say is worth making a special detour to see, if you are in Napier CBD it's well worth a short stroll to go and see.

Noticed it at night when we walked past and the lights were constantly changing colours. I came back again after heading to the Urban Farmers Market on the street beside it. It was really tidy with nicely kept paths and walkways. The palm trees were also quite large and gave it a tropical feel, even though it was cold and raining. There is a fountain in the middle which actually looked quite nice as the lower level was almost waist height. The most interesting thing in the park was the giant harp looking sculpture. This is a carillon and it actually plays every half hour from 1130. There is also another interesting fountain on the other entrance of the park. It was quite a nice park to walk around even though it is a bit small. It would be a nice place to stop with some food on a nice day.

Right across from Memorial Square you can visit the larger and more interesting Clive Square. Clive Square has been around as long as the town of Napier itself, having been included in the original town planning in 1854. This is a nice public space in the town centre that makes for a good stop to rest your feet and to enjoy the flowers during the spring. Here you can find a green square that is well manicured with plenty of trees, diagonal and circular walking paths, lined with flowers. There is a nice lily pool in the centre of the square as well as as an older, Edwardian period fountain you can see on the south side of the square. You can also find a harp shaped carillon in the square that plays every half hour during the middle of the day. This is nice to listen to if you happen to be here at the right time of day. In the end, Napier has a handful of nice city parks and squares of which Clive Square is included. Its worth finding and having a look for those planning to walk around the town centre.
