   Handy spot for the lone long distance dog walker. Recovering from widespread cyclone damage which wrecked all the redevelopment of the previous year. Will need at least another year, weather willing, to recover. Stop bank runs from waiohiki bridge to Awatoto making it a handy conduit for cyclists.

   Great place to run the dogs, river and banks are stoned based. Bird life here and trout! Great place to relax and walk or to sit and meditate. You can drive a 4x4 here also.

   Awesome swim holes. But beware..... humans have dumped heaps of household junk in the tracks. So sad. Such pigs. There was a dead goat under the Willows that lay in the river. Please do not swim near those areas unless you have checked under there. Current was not strong

   Me and my dog love the river, unfortunately after the recent rains the river isn't kiddie friendly this summer. No shallows to play in. Still nice spot for a picnic and throwing the ball or frisbee.
