Beautiful historic home (my great-great-grandfather built it and lived in it, so yes, biased) in a stunning setting. If youβre at Wenderholm for a day in the sun and swim, or a picnic in the trees, itβs well worth the time to swing through and look at how early settlers once lived.

My daughter Anne took me to see this magnificent historic house and its beautiful furniture and memorabilia from the era. WOW! I was fascinated by the preservation! We had a lovely explanatory talk from Christeen a volunteer and who was a descendant of last owners and had actually lived in the home! A $5-00 fee is charged to help with upkeep well worth it! I would recommend to any discerning people interested in the History of the area! Me being a retired joinery manufacturer, the furniture made by true craftsmen without hand power tools is fantastic! Thank you for looking after the treasure, fabulous. Arthur C. Charlton West Auck

Amazing house to visit from1860 with lots history plaques around to keep ypu informed. Volunteer lady was very knowledgeable about the families who had lived there...worth a visit if your in the area. Once visited the house you can have a walk around the amazing park or take a picnic and spend the day.

What a neat place! It is a bit difficult to find. You have to go all the way to the end, and park there under the trees, otherwise it is a bit of a hike from the bottom entrance. The owners were very friendly and helpful. You can choose a guided tour or self guided. There were so many interesting things to see. It's amazing to think this is how people lived. The surrounding gardens are pretty, and there are lots of walking trails as well. For only $5, you can immerse yourself a slice of New Zealand history
