   Went for a walk around the lake. Was a really amazing route and well maintained track. Unfortunately lacking facilities and would be perfect if it had them plus a little water drinking station. Highly recommended. The port a loo at the carpark definitely needs attention

   Easy access from Meadowbank and Orakei train stations. Beautiful water views from the walkway. Quite busy with walkers and dogs. A highlight is the Orakei Creek footbridge. There are steep stairs at both ends. A satisfying walk on a sunny day.

   A lovely walkway around Orakei Basin that takes about an hour to complete. You can bring a bike or a kids’ scooter, as there are no cars on the path, making it safe and relaxing. A perfect spot to enjoy a peaceful walk surrounded by nature.

   Absolutely beautiful spot in Auckland for the whole family, including the dog/s. Massive off leash area. Nice walking tracks and beautiful outlook. We absolutely loved our morning spent slowly making our way around the Orakei Basin. Definitely check out google/the council website before you go, though. If you're planning to do the loop walk I'd say you'd struggle with a pram due to the stairs near the Sailing Club House. Other than this, absolutely highly rate this walk. Was 10/10 for our family.

   A great walk around the basin. Lots of hidden secrets that you can see along the way. A great place to take the dog , they can swim in the water and safe. A nice big loop and plenty of parking in multiple locations. Lots of signage to assist with the path. Lots of food and drink options close by too. Great on a nice day

   Ive been walking this route since forever. Actually only 13 years, but in that time I've seen a lot of change. The only regret I have is that eye sore of an apartment complex right on the pathway towards Meadowbank and Lucerne Rds. Other than that the water is looking good and the natural surrounds just fabulous.

   This well developed walkway features trails, paved pathways, raised wooden walkways and bridges, and a few stairways. It is great for walking and running, and is popular with locals for dog walking and exercise. It takes a total of about 40 to 45 minutes to walk completely around the basin, and there are plenty of benches to sit and relax on along the way. There are also several boat ramps with parking, and one free parking area. The Basin walkway can be accessed from many points, and is never closed. There is a shopping center on the northwest side, on Orekai Road, with an organic grocery store, restaurants, and cafes, including a few that serve drinks or beers. A great place to spend a few hours for a relaxing walk!
