“Mint Leaf is great value and good quality, they give you a larger curry than most places. Lamb Korma is my go to and consistently good. The lady sometimes comes off as a little rude on the phone but it's not her intention (maybe just limited English), they are nice people. For the price and quality, this place really is great value.”
“Great Chinese food. Good deals. Friendly staff. Updated Menu Photo. Recommended.”
“5 stars for being super dog friendly. The food was pretty good too. We got the shared meatboard to try a few different meats and was pretty good value. We really liked the beef brisket and the chicken tenderloins. Our least favourite was the pulled pork.”
“We had the Turkish vegan pizza. It was more than delicious....it was scrumptious! Obviously made with love and care by a man who loves what he does. Heaps of fabulous, very tasty toppings. Excellent price. Well worth it. So thank you, we will be back.”
“Whenupai roast catered for my event and boy did they do a great job. They were super friendly and wanted to hear about my story. The food was delicious and on time, I highly recommend getting the wontons in your order.”
“Great place to grab a roast dinner. Excellent portion sizes and really friendly staff.”
“The beef and cheese burger is simple yet absolutely class, the chicken nibbles seem pricey but they’re pretty huge. Overall such good food. Only complaint would be the fries to sauce ratio - the aioli is actually amazing but just slightly not enough. Customer service is excellent - friendly people”
“Love the fish and chips here, kiwi as. Chinese looks pretty good to.. shop was really busy, friendly staff and efficient service. Yum fish and chips!”
“There are very good steamed dishes here, and the price is very cheap.”
“$9.90. Let that sink in for a moment. With such a incredible price point, this establishment checks all of the boxes for dishing out some amazing food at this price point. Amazing mix and portions of meat, vegetables and rice which is punching way above its value. I personally think it's almost impossible to have so much value compared to a home cooked meal. While I haven't been to many $9.90 establishments, I can say that so far, Smart Kitchen has the most in depth and complex flavours. Overall, highly recommend cheap eats lunch box in Albany. Great value and great flavours to make a dent in the saturated $9.90 market.”
“Amazing quality food at a great price. We always enjoy the food here good portions for a decent price and tastes amazing!”
“An unbeatable meal deal! For only $9.9, you can choose your favorite meat and two tasty veggies, plus enjoy a free soup and side dish. Thirsty? Add a drink for just $1! I’ll definitely be back for more!”
“This restaurant takeaways has a simple kitchen style dining area with absolutely amazing food!! Lovely helpful and friendly service. We had the most delicious plate of salted prawns and a plate of green beans with minced chicken. Great choices. We can't wait to go back and take friends.”
“The best fried chicken takeaway I think I’ve ever had in New Zealand. SO good. The hot chips and fish were also delicious. Reasonable prices, good size servings. Thank you very much!”
“This place is great! Reasonable prices with good portion sizes and good quality. I love their chicken on chips they’re actually goated.”
“Friendly staff. The restaurant was almost full so I would recommend booking a table beforehand. The waiting time was short and we didn't have to wait long for our food after we ordered. The food was delicious and made with good quality ingredients that is better than other Chinese restaurant nearby. The dish sizes are large, so it's a ideal restaurant for family and/or friend gatherings. I was happy when I saw one of the staff put a dropped table cloth into a bin for cleaning instead of using it anyway, good hygiene practices. Will come again!”
“If you’re in search of an authentic Taiwanese beef braised noodle soup 牛肉麵, this place is it! We are so happy to have found the Tree Cafe after craving for Taiwanese cuisine for such a long time. Their soy milk was also perfect, it was not too sweet and full of flavour! The side dish of pickled cabbage was tasty as well. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. The only downside is that the parking can be somewhat challenging, as there is limited space for the mall customers.”
“Honestly for $9. The Hawaiian Burger is value for $$$ Fresh Burger Buns Homemade beef pattie Double Bacon Double Pineapple rings Cheese Fresh Salads (Lettuce, carrots, cucumber, red onion) I've had alot of gourmet Burger and honestly from a local Takeaways it actually out matched alot. 9/10 for Burger. Will definitely be back.”
“Been here multiple times and is my go to for beef noodles now! Broth is flavourful, with a tiny fragrance of herbs while not being too oily or heavy. The noodles are made fresh with a good bite and texture. Love the sour cabbage/pickles option. They have a wide range of dishes too, all of them being delicious. Highly recommend this spot! Both more affordable and much tastier than other chains that have sprung up in Auckland.”
“We ordered fish and chips. Ten outta ten. Highly recommend. Crispy and fresh. Not at all oily.”
“Great family friendly environment. Bring your kids for an ice cream and enjoy the brunch. Pet friendly cafe.”
“Great local. Been coming here for years. Beside their fish & chips, love their sweet n sour, chow mein, black bean & fried rice options. Very tasty, reasonable prices.”
“Been coming here for over 5 years now and would highly recommend this place if you’re looking to get a really good roast.”
“Lamb Rogan Josh and garlic naan can only be described as awesome. Asked for hot and it was, definitely got a sweat on and runny nose. Plenty of meat and sauce. Naan bread was full of garlic. Will definitely be back and will try the sit in next.”
“Seriously the best pizza, chicken tenders and garlic bread I’ve had in a long time. Better than KFC, Pizza Hut and dominoes!”
“We’ve been coming to this sushi shop for several weeks in a row. It’s tasty and good value, and the chicken comes in whole pieces, not shredded chicken.”
“A random walk in to a tiny eatery for dinner; ended up with good food in a cozy setting. Love little cozy eateries; not everyone might - the space works best as a bar, but that doesnt do justice to how well the food turned out. Granted this is a first time experience, but the how good the food was forced me to write this review. We had the tikki chat, vegetarian chow mein, lasooni daal and garlic naan. The naan was thin and very well made, the chow mein was very well done too. The lasooni daal was rustic, reminded me of all the road trip dhabas back in India. It was some of the best daal I have had in Auckland in a very long time. Daals are simple dishes, which make it hard to hide mistakes behind a wall of spice and overwhelming flavour (and no it was not a wall of lasson either). Whoever cooked this knows his way around good north indian punjabi cooking. The tikki was very well made. I dont know if its kitchen made or off the shelf, but it crispy on the outside and well cooked inside. Make that a chat and it was a symphony of flavour. I think the daal and the tikki just put the chow mein (which really was good) in shade coz of how good it was. Our experience with the staff was good. A picky eater amongst us has requests on how each dish was to be cooked. They did it very well. The rice that came with the food was an iffy. But I think am placing a high standard on a small eatery and bar in Takapuna. There are 1 year old comments that put the place in shade. My experience did not match those comments. If you are keen on really good simple rustic north indian punjabi food that reminds you of home - this place may be worth it”
“My husband and I ate our late lunch here. I ordered Salmon and Capers Pasta, and it was soooooo good! It was creamy and I love how it balances with the capers My husband ordered Spaghetti Carbonara and it was so delicious as well! Will definitely try their pizza next time.”
“A little hidden gem. Wasn't sure what to get, so it was recommended that the Tom Yum Soup with seafood was good by the friendly staff. The food came out quick and did not disappoint. Will definitely be back.”
“Amazing food and service. Sakaba have authentic Japanese food in one hand and in another very creative dishes, like the wing gyozas and the monaka sushi. Sakaba is a hiding treasure in North Shore that deserve to be known by everyone who loves Japanese food.”
