   We found this place by chance and dropped by for dinner. The food was tasty and presented very well. However, some dishes were a bit too sweet or salty. The staff was also good and friendly, but I couldn't feel any welcoming vibes from them. They seem a bit understaffed, so I guess that could be the reason behind it. Overall, we had a good experience and would recommend anyone who likes Japanese food to give this place a try.

   My partner and I had a lovely date there and it's our second visit to the restaurant. The ambiance of Sakaba is welcoming and cozy! Hosts were hospitable and the meal was really delicious. We had the sea urchin which was in season and well presented. Amazing sake list and unique sake cup selection experience. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again with my loving ones.

   Food was great with good plate presentation. Staff were very friendly but I think they maybe short of staff, so sometimes not as attentive as they wanted to. The portion of food was a good size for sharing. Highlight of the night was the sashimi platter, scallop wrapped with Wagyu, softshell crab bun (but only two PCs instead of three as shown in the picture on the menu) and the Wagyu sukiyaki. The sashimi platter had a wide variety of fish instead of just salmon, snapper, tuna in most other restaurants and we're very fresh. The ambience and coziness of the restaurant also made the night enjoyable. We'll come back again for sure.

   The grilled fish looks plain but actually very flavoursome, 12/10! Urchin parfait combines fresh tuna and urchin on top of sushi rice, wrap them in seaweed with a bit soy sauce and wasabi, turned out unique taste. 9/10. Oysters and sashimi are very fresh and tasty.

   Amazing food and service. Sakaba have authentic Japanese food in one hand and in another very creative dishes, like the wing gyozas and the monaka sushi. Sakaba is a hiding treasure in North Shore that deserve to be known by everyone who loves Japanese food.

   Authentic Japanese izakaya! I love this place as they have varieties of menu and also good ranges of sake. It would have been really good if it was a little bit darker as its quite bright for the night to have drink. Loved every dishes I had and really recommend! This will be my favourite place in Albany!
