“This wonderful Café, tucked behind an old railway station that feels straight out of a Harry Potter movie, is a total gem. The cozy vibe, with its vintage decor, makes it a great spot to kick back and relax. Their food is delicious—try the sandwiches and pastries, paired with some fantastic coffee. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. Whether you’re hanging out with friends or just enjoying some quiet time, this place is perfect for a chill day. Definitely check it out!”
“Lovely staff and great food and coffee menu. If you love coffee then you must visit this place! The food we ordered was so delicious - very happy with how the mini breakfast was seasoned. Nothing was overly salted and ingredients were fresh. Really good prices too!”
“Eaten brunch here a couple of times. Eggs bene and avo on toast. Good both times. Has become a regular stop for a coffee and cake after a dog walk. There are 2 doors, so ordering and counter food is done in the back corner. You can then walk outside to the diner and take a seat. Makes for a nice quiet area to chat while waiting for food as no coffee machine working! Dog friendly and outside seating area for firry friends.”
“Amazing cafe! The decor is cozy yet stylish, making it a perfect spot for catching up with friends. The coffee is exceptional—smooth, rich, and brewed to perfection. The food menu is equally impressive, offering a great variety of fresh, flavorful dishes and tastes incredible. Also friendly and attentive staff passionate about making your experience special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and a delightful experience!”
“Ordered a breakfast from Uber eats. The food was delicious. Banana smoothie was nice.”
“Very busy little cafe. Very popular. Beautiful vista. Foid exceptional and cater for all tastes. Staff very helpful and friendly. You need to book or you won't get in.”
“Love this place! You have a choice to eat inside and outside. The people are friendly, professional and always genuine when they come around to collect plates etc. The food was amazing!! Looked and tasted delicious. We will be coming again for sure.”
“Everything was spot on. The coffee was smooth and full of flavour — you could tell they take it seriously. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. It had such a good vibe, warm and friendly service.”
“The fact someone can rate this place a 1 star is beyond me. A great local business. Food is amazing and love the atmosphere feels like a home. Staff are friendly. Definitely recommend.”
“Great morning coffee and Pastry. The Date scone was unfortunately not cooked through but they did apologise and tell the baker. Coffees great and the Almond Croissant rated highly along with the Chocolate Twist.”
“Nestled in beautiful surrounds . A lovely view of the sky tower and sun dawning on the new day . I'm here at 8 am , very peaceful, gentle sunshine streaming in . A beautiful start to the day with coffee and lovely surroundings.”
“Portion size for days, love it, Service was very welcoming, could tell they are very people focused. Cant wait to go back”
“Great place for a relaxed coffee ☕ Had a flat white and it was marvelous. They have a very pleasant garden inside, but it got a bit too hot, so I moved to another side - perfect for people watching. And they have a free WiFi”
“The service was great, coffee and food were both excellent. All three meals bought out at the same time, all nice and hot. Would definitely recommend.”
“My favorite place in waiuku. Really good coffee and super nice service. I love it”
“Quite likely the best seafood pasta I’ve ever had. Incredible service, atmosphere was beautiful and presentation was 11/10. Will 100% be back because the cabinet food looked unreal! A great example of a hospo venue nailing all bases.”
“"I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Stone Cow Cafe and was delighted to find out that they offer art classes! For only $60, you can enjoy a drink of your choice while getting creative with the art supplies provided. The art pieces that adorned the walls added to the already inviting and creative atmosphere. The service was fantastic, and the food was delicious. It's great to see a local business that not only offers great food and service but also promotes the arts in the community. I highly recommend checking out The Stone Cow Cafe for a fun and unique experience. Let's support local businesses that offer creative and engaging activities for our community. Five stars from me! “What a magic way to start your day. On the brink of summer, with the sun just rising, sitting with a tulip cup of perfectly brewed caffeine goodness, watching the workday week crowd hustle and the rest, actively relax. Happiness is a spot on the deck, people watching and sitting with friends appreciating where you are. The staff, attentive and friendly, the food, pricey but worth it.”
“A must visit place!!!! Best coffee ive tasted. Love the coffee aroma once you entered the store. We ordered the Boss breakfast and the pancake. They are Very generous and i have nothing to say about the presentation. To add to that, The staff are so friendly too. You also dont have to worry about the parking space.”
“We really liked kind - so much, that we went there three times. We had great breakfast (pancakes and avocado on sourdough) and pastries (scones, pain au chocolate, savory muffin with caramelised onions, vegan meat pie with vegan cheese and vegan sausage roll). They also have lots of milk options available, one of them being macadamia milk which I’ve never seen before (oat tastes better in my humble opinion). They also offer “yesterday’s baked goods” at a discounted price that taste just as good. Definitely a must if you’re in Auckland!”
“Great variety of teas and items, will be buying again.”
“Food was great! It’s a good fusion of Japanese and kiwi food. Staff are accommodating. Enough parking spaces.”
“During the holiday before Christmas, while traveling in New Zealand, I discovered this hidden-gem café in Auckland. The space is simple, bright, and clean, and the food is incredibly fresh and delicious. What I have to recommend most is the portion size — generous and absolutely worth the price. It’s far better than those cafés where you pay a lot and still leave hungry. If you’re traveling and happen to be hungry, make sure you stop by this café.”
“We place a weekly order for desserts and everything is always fresh and delicious. The desserts last quite some time in the refrigerator as well.”
“Great lunch spot right by Kmart. The interior is very nice and felt comfortable even if they are busy. The cabinet selection was great and very enticing, and it was absolutely worth it as we tried their caramel slice which had a great balance of sweetness and texture. The classic eggs Benedict was great too and was equally impressed with the portion size for the corn fritters. Update: tried the cabinet food and was not surprised that it was good too. Fairly complex flavour for cabinet food and I especially enjoyed the chilli scramble bap. Will definitely be keen to come back and try more of the menu.”
“Lovely to pop into Hancocks cafe is morning for a late coffee and treat. The cafe was quite busy, however the staff were still super friendly and greeted me right away. Had a delicious apple strudel (treat yourself) and a ice coffee - was great. Would highly recommend! Jess, Hospitality Specialist Kakapo Business Sales”
“We had brunch on Waitangi Day (Thursday) and absolutely loved it. For the first time, I had a smoothie that was actually better than the ones I make at home—so thank you for that! We went back on Saturday, but this time, the smoothie had noticeably more spinach, which caused it to oxidize quicker. I don’t have a picture, so you’ll have to take my word for it—it was much darker in color and less sweet. That said, the breakfast quality was just as great as the first time.”
“I recently visited this cozy café and tried their "Salmon Benny" it was an absolute delight! The dish was beautifully presented, with perfectly poached eggs nestled on a crispy, flavorful base, topped with creamy hollandaise sauce and fresh greens. The smoked salmon on the side added a rich, savory touch that paired wonderfully with the rest of the dish. The portion size was just right, and every bite was bursting with flavor. The attention to detail in both the presentation and taste truly stood out. The café itself had a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. If you're a fan of eggs Benedict or just looking for a delicious brunch spot, I highly recommend giving this place a try! I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu.”
“Lovely ladies, very cheerful and smiley. Great customer service and had the tea that I was looking for. As well as variety of milk, if you seek lactose free.”
“Lovely atmosphere and staff. We went here for lunch and got two eggs benedicts, hot chocolate and a smoothie. The hollandaise sauce tastes amazing and I was very impressed with the hash brown - the eggs and bacon were also done to perfection. And the presentation was very pretty. Nice place for a lunch date!”
