Loved the avocado on toast. Come here quite a bit and always consistent quality. Great coffee too. Usually lots of parking out the back where you can enter through the garden area!

Salta Ponsonby is always a hit — they never ever miss: Amazing food, amazing staff, and an amazing atmosphere. Every single time I get (the best order, and only $7 in this economy!) an iced caramel latte, and every single time it’s filled with love and a silky sweet goodness. The food too is amazing, but truly the best baristas is Ponsonby! A warmed cinnamon brioche always makes me feel like I’m getting a homemade treat from my mother. And all the front of house greet you a smiley face and warm hello. The beautiful lady with the nose ring makes you feel so honoured; the awesome guy who listened to me complain about an uni test has the best advice and great barista skills (if it’s multi choice, go “ini mini miny moe”); the sweet girl with the charm bracelet handles customers with kindness and endless amount of respect; really, all the staff at the friendliest bunch. They get to know you the more you come in, and even if it’s a one off visit, the same courtesy is extended. A quote from the ten year old I nanny when I needed a Salta special coffee, “That was quick!” So, even if you’re in a rush, stop in to Salta for a coffee! Quick, loving, and delicious is a brief summary to Salta. If you decide to stay to sip the best coffee in Ponsonby or enjoy delicious food, there’s so many amazing places to sit. People watchers will be amazed at the upstairs seating where a window overlooks Ponsonby road. + there’s free wifi, so a uni student’s perfect study spot. Highly recommend Salta as your go to spot in Ponsonby. Make the trip and you will fall in love with the cafe as I have.

I had such a good experience having brunch there with my friend. He is allergic to eggs and asked the waitress if the chef could check for the ingredients. She was so kind and also recommended to sit in the backyard, the backyard was lovely and quiet. That day was just perfect. I definitely will visit again.

Great place for a relaxed coffee ☕ Had a flat white and it was marvelous. They have a very pleasant garden inside, but it got a bit too hot, so I moved to another side - perfect for people watching. And they have a free WiFi

Small little cafe at the heart of Ponsonby good service, coffee and tasty food- mince on toast the way to go after a bit of a hangover! Good value too.

I made plans here with a friend due to the reviews, I read online. It’s definitely not what I expected. It’s a cafe for the older market. I received a burnt crepe which I didn’t finish and coffee was milky. Allpress beans. Service was slow, friend waited for the server to free himself from other task. Wouldn’t recommend.

Beautiful Cafe in the heart of Ponsonby with a peaceful garden area away from the busy street or you can enjoy the buzz of the inside dining. Excellent Smashed Avocado, good Coffee at reasonable prices.

Wilson served us and he is amazing! Great jokes and recommended us a few delicious cakes to go along with his fantastic coffee.

Incredible sandwiches and lovely staff. It’s a popular and lively cafe - beautiful outdoor area through the back that is a rare, calm haven in the area (though walking through the kitchen is a bit awkward to get there - I feel for the staff as conditions are a bit cramped). My constructive feedback would be 1. If someone orders a coffee with a milk alternative (even a cappuccino) ask before putting powdered chocolate on it as chocolate powder generally has milk products in it, and 2. Get some ingredient intel on those gorgeous looking cakes and sandwiches. It would be great to know if any are OK for lactose intolerance. Allergen/ingredient info is always great to have on all products sold.
