The food was tasty, but the whole service was disappointing and shocking. Staff rushed to take our order immediately after we sat down — three different staff members approached us within a minute, leaving little time to read the menu. There also seemed to be limited product knowledge of the ingredients (e.g., they did not know what was in the chorizo they served). I ordered the Full Patch Grill with boiled eggs, but was served poached eggs cooked in plastic wrap instead. I brought the dish to the counter to raise my concerns, and was returned and told to continue eating while they prepared replacement eggs. (Should have served with a whole completed dish) After waiting around 20 minutes and almost finishing my meal, the staff member who originally took my order came around looking confused between my table and others, asking if anyone had ordered boiled eggs. What arrived were two whole boiled eggs still in their shells — something I’ve never been served with a cooked breakfast, as they’re usually peeled. There was no acknowledgement of the mix-up and no apology. It felt like the priority was taking orders rather than providing service. The lack of ownership and professionalism overshadowed the meal. I was planning to order more food and drinks, but decided to leave, as I did not enjoy my breakfast experience — even though the food itself was great but not completed.

Patch Cafe turned out to be a really solid place to visit, and after spending some proper time there, I’d land confidently on a 4 star rating. The moment you walk in, the place has this lively, welcoming vibe that makes you feel like you’re in the right spot for a good meal. The food itself was genuinely nice. Everything tasted fresh, well prepared, and made with a bit of care rather than just thrown together. It wasn’t over the top or trying to be fancy for the sake of it. It was just good, honest cafe food done well, which is exactly what most people want when they go out. The real surprise was how quickly everything came out. Even though the cafe was packed with people, the kitchen kept things moving smoothly. That speed really matters, especially if you’ve got kids with you or you’re popping in during a lunch break. The coffee was another standout. It was smooth, balanced, and just strong enough to give you that proper morning lift without being bitter. There’s something about a cafe that gets the coffee right. It just sets the tone for the whole visit. Patch Cafe definitely knows what it’s doing in that area. It’s the kind of coffee you’d happily order again without a second thought. Parking, on the other hand, was definitely the biggest frustration. It took longer than expected to find a spot, and that can be a bit annoying when you’re already hungry or trying to wrangle kids. You sort of do a few loops, hope for the best, and eventually land something. It’s not the cafe’s fault, but it does affect the overall experience. Once you’re inside though, the atmosphere makes up for it. The place is busy, full of movement and conversation, and clearly a favourite for locals. That busyness tells you the food and service are good, but it also means you need to be ready for a lively environment rather than a quiet, slow-paced brunch. One thing Patch Cafe absolutely gets right is how family friendly it is. The kids play area is genuinely awesome. It’s clean, safe, and gives children something fun to focus on while the adults get a moment to enjoy their meal without rushing. Not many cafes offer a space like that, and for parents, it really does make all the difference. That alone lifts the whole experience and makes Patch Cafe stand out. It’s also worth mentioning the difference between weekdays and weekends. Weekdays feel calmer and easier, both inside the cafe and in the surrounding area. Weekends, however, are on another level. The place gets much busier, parking gets tighter, and the overall noise and movement go up quite a bit. It’s still enjoyable, but definitely something to keep in mind depending on the kind of outing you want. Overall, Patch Cafe delivers tasty food, great coffee, friendly and fast service, and one of the best kids play areas around. If parking were easier and the weekend rush wasn’t so intense, it could easily push into 5 star territory. Even so, it’s absolutely worth visiting and offers a really enjoyable experience for families and anyone looking for a good meal.

Quite likely the best seafood pasta I’ve ever had. Incredible service, atmosphere was beautiful and presentation was 11/10. Will 100% be back because the cabinet food looked unreal! A great example of a hospo venue nailing all bases.

Great Cafe. It’s fully packed most of the time. They are very friendly and attentive. The service is surprisingly fast and effective considering how busy the place is. They have a very good mix of large and mall tables available. Also both indoor and outdoor tables are there to choose. A good parking lot behind the store and there’s a good chance you can find a free spot.

Buzzy breakfast/brunch/lunch spot with sweet cabinet selections, nutritious plates and smoothies, good coffee, and helpful staff. Came mid-day Sunday as the morning crowd was thinning. Indoor still felt a bit frenetic, but seating for 1-2 was easy to find. I was looking for a balanced, full plate and coffee, and Patch hit the spot. Likely best to plan ahead for a wait + noise during peak breaky/brunch hours. Suitable for kids. Limited on-site parking.

Always received good service here. Their food is very tasty and the portions are very filling. Their staff are friendly, and the food is always consistent. You can book for a large group and I highly recommend you make reservations for weekend dining as they are very popular to Locals. Parking is limited but there are street parking.
