“Visiting from Canada and enjoyed popping in here a couple times for lunch. After the noon rush was a bit more relaxed but our meal was just as tasty with great coffee as well. You can always wander about in the gift shop or browse the plants while you’re waiting. Such a nice atmosphere and lovely staff.”
“A wonderful time at the ecosanctuary, followed by a just as good experience at Horopito. Coffee was nice and strong, but the highlight was certainly NZ's best savoury scone! Can't wait to make my own. Will be sure to stop by when I come back to Dunners”
“This is a lovely cosy cafe serving quality traditional fare and really good, actually hot, coffee. An oasis in Dunedin city centre. I highly recommend Rembrandt cafe.”
“We visited Natures Miracles as part of a day excursion from our cruise. Wonderful opportunity to see a working sheep farm and local wildlife. Exciting ATV ride and simple but nicely prepared lunch buffet. I felt like we were visiting a farming family doing their best to maintain their extraordinary land and heritage with an entrepreneurial spirit. What a pleasure.”
“Excellent coffee here this morning. The cinnamon bun was prefect. The seating is inside the settlers museum , toitū, or on the deck. Recommended.”
“Great coffee and cinnamon scroll. Always friendly service and attention given to making a great coffee!”

“I came late and was still welcomed. The lady went out of her way to accommodate me and I had 2 lovely biscuits. Not oversized or over priced, just right and super delicious. Good coffee too.”
“Love this cafe, great bakeries and had a satisfying flat white, and a nice taste of SO and their house blend. Thanks for the warm hospitality.”
“OUTSTANDING food and coffee ...my wife and I shared a blueberry gluten-free muffin ... unconditionally, the Bru Cafe has refined the art of baking to a Michelin standard ... the gluten-free muffin was the BEST we've ever had.”
“- Welcoming and patient staff. It was our first time and the lady waited until we made up our minds. - Halloumi cheese sandwich. It was fresh and the sauce on top wasn´t spicy whatsoever. Good option to share. - Granola bowl. Surprised me a lot because because it was a huge portion (of granola). However, it came with just a tiny cup of yougurt, some milk, banana and strawberry jam. In my opinion, the should add an extra portion of yogurt. - 1 restroom available. - Great atmosphere. Good place to read. - Outdor tables are available.”
“One of my favourite cafes in Dunedin, great homemade food at a great price and friendly service”
“Found our way here with a random stop while checking out the local area. Grabbed coffee and googled the reviews. Decided to try food, very reasonable prices compared to cafs in the city but there was no compromise on quality. Wicked stoked we came here, this place is awesome. Ginger slice was good but tan slice was the better. Thanks heaps.”
“Great coffee and food. My favorite Cafe around the CBD area.”
“Beautifullly situated cafe ! - the most lovely view of rhe Beach and waterfront. Could sit for hours but had eaten the steak, bacon pie too quickly! It's a cosy environment and best seats at definitely away from the door, especially on cold days! Although the owners were quick to close the door when someone forgot to close it. The service was superb!”
“22/04. Love this place, the cabinet food is delish. Perfect setting on a sunny day. 24/08. Back again because it really is our favourite Dunedin spot”
“I come in here most weeks with my father. We both love the food. Good portions and a reasonable price.”
“Fabulous coffee and food! Highly recommend the filter coffee, check what’s on offer each day as it changes, I had a very nice single origin Ethiopian. Espresso also great. And, very tasty food, we had breakfast 3 days in a row and can recommend the granola, also had poached eggs and bacon with a house made rosti in place of bread to make it gluten free (gf bread also an option). Staff are super helpful and friendly :)”
“The service here is great. One of the best coffee's around and there cheese rolls are amazing”
“Great staff, the little food I had was delicious and the coffee was good”
“Almond croissant, potato salad, date scone”
“Beautiful view overlooking the port. The ambience inside is unique and can cater for larger crowds. Coffee was excellent, probably one of the best I've had in Dunedin. There must've been a shortage of Caramel slice with the tiny pieces available, however it not lack in taste. Should've been $3.50 at the most. My friend was disappointed that there was no cheese scone however, nonetheless he settled for a savoury scone which he said was great.”
Greenland's Cafe & Restaurant leans into a classic fish-and-chips approach with no fuss. Grill work shows a clean sear and rested meats. Portions are generous yet well judged. Eggs land on point and toast stays crisp.
Brighton Beach Cafe runs with a coffee-and-cabinet menu and a relaxed feel. Packaging keeps things crisp on arrival. Value feels fair for the spread. Good value shows in the serve sizes. Team members...
The kitchen at The Good Oil Cafe takes a coffee-and-cabinet path and lets the food speak. A sensible spend for the quality. Team members keep things friendly and on task. Meals land promptly at the pass.
