“We came in as a group of three, and it was just us here. The lady who greeted us had a lovely smile and was friendly. The food was very nice, sauce options very good- food can be a bit lacking but it does the job if you just want a simple meal. The bread that comes table side was very yummy. I loved the theming, wasn’t too loud. Felt very fancy in comparison to Auckland’s Genghis Khan. Thank you for your service! ❤️”

“Had brunch there for the first time and loved it. For those who aren’t aware, it used to be called Mayfair theatre in the 1900s and you’ll be able to catch some of its history in the cafe. We had the Breakfast Special and it was perfect and a bonus to it was a well brewed coffee. Service was excellent and we exchanged a few chats along the way. The fireplace kept the cafe warm and toasty but not too heated. Lots of street parking available which adds to the convenience. This place also does discounts on the Entertainment Book or First Table bookings.”

“We hosted our son's day for dinner for 25 people in our group, and it was beautiful. The service and food were amazing. Fast and very affordable, my whole family enjoyed their time along with the naughty kids. Sorry about the kids running around during dinner. Would highly recommend Taste Amazing for anyone looking to host a birthday party, or wedding simple lunch or dinner or whatever you like these guys are the best.”

“Columbus coffee is a great spot when no it's raining. With an adjacent playground for the kids, you can grab a nice coffee while they play. A bowl of chips for them to snack on makes the experience even better. Then have a wander through Mitre 10 for your gardening and diy needs.”

“The best breakfast/ brunch spot in Porirua! We had the veggie breakfast and chilli oil scrambled eggs, food was very well done and tasted great. 100% recommended.”

“Perfecto. Staff were awesome. Some noise inside by inconsiderate guests arriving late at night but no noise from outside at all. Location perfect, we flew at 6am. Have stayed probably 4 or 5 x now and have already rebooked for my next trip.”

“I just got back from a stay at the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor, and wow, what a great experience! My room on the 26th level offered amazing views of the city the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. When I checked in, In my room I was welcomed with a complimentary glass bottle and some delicious chocolates, which was such a nice surprise! The room itself was super spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed? Absolutely comfy! I had some of the best sleep I've had in a while, thanks to the cozy bedding. Let’s talk breakfast! The buffet was fantastic. There was so much to choose from, but I have to give a shoutout to the chef for frying my eggs just right and whipping up an omelette that was simply delicious. It really set the tone for a great day. The staff here were friendly and helpful, always there when I needed something. Plus, the hotel is in a prime location, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, my stay at the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor was fantastic. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfy and enjoyable place to stay in the city.”

“Despite our last minute booking at 9pm, it was nice to get the instructions for parking and simple directions to use the shower facilities. We got off the ferry with our motor home at 1am in the morning. And the parking was easy. Lots of spaces for motorhomes in the powered site. Nice clean shower. Everything was neat and well managed. Love it. The lady at the reception I met in the morning was friendly, helpful and nice. Thank you for all the help”

“Noodle Man is one of those places that you need to visit when you're craving some hot soup and great noodles. I have been going to Noodle Man consistently for the past several years, even before I moved to Wellington and what a joy this place is. Everything on their menu is under $25 which is a rare find in a city that is full of overpriced dishes with less than desired flavours. Their Beef Noodle Soup is such an exceptional dish that you'd be hard pressed to find a better bowl in Wellington. The beef is so tender that it falls apart when you try to pick it up with your chopsticks. The broth is rich, deep and full of warm spices that leave you feeling comforted after just one sip. If I could eat one type of noodle dish for the rest of my life, it would very well be Noodle Man's Beef Noodle Soup. Their rice dishes are also such great value and they really heap on the amount of meat and veges. Please support this lovely business. Capital Market is definitely not what it used to be but it deserves all the love nonetheless.”

“Wow, what a feast! I couldn't resist ordering the chicken and chips, spicy fried noodles, potato fritter, and deep fried Moro Bar, and boy, was it a treat! The chicken was unbelievably fresh and juicy, with a super crispy coating that had me hooked from the first bite. And those fries? Straight out of the fryer and oh-so-crispy! The noodles were a flavor explosion, and I had zero complaints. Don't even get me started on the potato fritter – just $1 and the perfect potato to batter ratio, a definite must-have! And the deep fried Moro Bar? Simply the best I've ever had. Talk about ending the meal on a high note! Plus, the people here are just lovely and kind. What more could you ask for? Also a good way to support your local business.”

“Thanks for a delicious meal. Hot, quick and fresh. The fish was great, nice and fresh. Lovely fresh crisp vegetables. Good severing of tender pork (no fat). Crisp wontons. Great size meals servings making it good value for money. We tried a new meal satay chicken which we really enjoyed too. The chips were nice and crisp while fluffy inside. Totally recommend Golden Takeaways, we are never disappointed”

“Spacious cafe with good food and very friendly staff. Prices are also very reasonable and it is one of the best places on the Massey campus for exterior views. It could use some more support from the University in terms of signage as the cafe is somewhat difficult to find.”

“I like this place. I like it a lot. I didn’t actually eat in but I got the garlic butter cream they sell there and I’ve been using it in my cooking and wow it is so good. “Just ordered off Uber Eats the number one most liked Honey Chicken Rice & the egg fried rice is one of the most delicious I’ve had. It’s hot & very tasty, extremely moreish. The chicken is covered in generous sauce which is much appreciated & cooked very well. Fills you up fast too because the sauce is lovely & rich. Really recommend this place, thank you Zhou’s Kitchen! :)”

“The battered fish are consistently excellent -. the batter is crispy and the fish tastes fresh. The chips are the pre-made frozen variety & are just OK. Other than the fish, the battered meat patties are my favourite. The staff are always polite. I rate this shop 4 1/2 stars but rounding up to 5 stars”

“We always buy a scoop of chips here - they are always a lovely mix of crispy and soft, generous sizing too compared to most other fish and chip shops. $5 is also cheaper than most places too. Big fan keep it up:)”

“The place looks abit dull but that's about it. As for the burger I had from there was sooooo delicious...one of the best burgers I've had. I've travelled many places to eat and this burger is in my top 10 for sure. I got the chicken breast burger with the cheesy melt and mushroom sauce.
