“Nice quite small beach, parking is a hastle but definently worth it”
“Such a very place to stroll and chase the sunset. The parking is safe. The pavement is even. Took us 1.5 hours back and forth. There’s one toilet near the dam. The place is well maintained. No rubbish bins but it is tidy. Recommended walk for everyone (“.)”
“Lovely community park in Browns bay.”
“Really nice, clean and tidy, with a beautiful view. Lots of cafes around too. Amazing playground.”
“Good for short walks, lots of variety in trees including pines, oaks, bamboo and native trees. Home to australian magpies, native fantails, blackbirds, swifts, and song thrush. Several full sized sport fields on site for use. Toilets near near entrances. Two sets of playgrounds and one set of exercising stations.”
“An easy walk to the beach at Fitzpatrick Bay in Chatswood There is a large grassed area by the beach which makes it a perfect place for a swim Dogs will love the off-leash area at the beach walk offers great views over the Upper Waitematā Harbour”

“Great place with a variety of activities you can enjoy. Playground, skate park and basketball courts provide plenty of fun for kids. Easy walking track (there are stairs on the track) Soccer fields are well looked after and great for exercising and plenty more”
“Great lookout with easy access and gorgeous views over Kapiti Coast and Kapiti Island. The forest loop track has lots of info boards which help to keep kids entertained while discovering the forest birds and insects. Upd. What I really like about this reserve is that every path is so different. There are heaps of hidden gems like giant totara or kid-size bench, weta boxes in the bush and cool look-outs. Hit the track and enjoy!”
“Beautiful scenery, public toilets that get locked in evening but one open all night. We had a peaceful evening. Restaurant at the carpark. Only one night for freedom campers they do come check.”
“Great walk. Came in off Hine Rd, up to McKerrow, onto Roubd ridge, back through Camp Wainui, up Bruce's track to repeater and back to car. Well marked, easy to navigate.”
“Great place for a swim or a picnic with the family. Safe to swim.”
“Great moderate loop track for kids and dogs on lead. A few stairs and uphill/downhill climbs, but nothing too strenuous. Plenty of parking and shaded areas for a picnic at the start/end. Be aware of bees and wasps in late summer. Took us about an hour with stops looking at scenery and playing in the water.”
“Can spend a lot of time with kids here. Nice walking path with trees, ponds and bridges to cross. You can fish with the lake being stocked with fish ( just check there is not any current restrictions due to chemical spraying) There's two playgrounds and hire boats on a boating lake. Lots of ducks and even spotted an eel to feed”
“This is a pretty little urban lake with plenty of free parking so you can enjoy the loop track and walk around the whole lake!”
“Beautiful views, songs of the tui. This is a gem. Lots to do and see. Love it”
“What an incredible way to spend the day. Loved seeing the families enjoying their day out, bombing off the Jetty, and swimming in the beautiful water. I'm disappointed I never found this place until now, Such a jem!!”
“Lovely, quiet spot. 2 toilets and 2 showers with a boat ramp into the river. Beautiful spot”
“Victoria Square Park in Cambridge is a lovely central green space that reflects the charm of the town. It’s a well-maintained, peaceful park with wide open lawns perfect for picnics, casual sports, or relaxing with a book. On Saturdays, it comes alive with the farmers' market, bringing together locals and visitors with fresh produce, crafts, and delicious food. The surrounding trees create a beautiful canopy in warmer months, offering shade and a picturesque setting. In winter, the park takes on a different charm—most of the trees shed their leaves, leaving a quiet, open view of the branches and sky. It can feel bare, but there's a certain beauty in that simplicity. The old shed and cricket club add a historic touch, and the public toilets are clean and convenient. While there’s no playground, it remains a favourite spot for families and gatherings. A true gem in the heart of Cambridge.”
“Such a peaceful walk around wetlands. I loved seeing the different variety of bird life in this area.”
“Had a wonderful evening with the combined brass bands of HB, Deco Bay Brass as well as the HB Jazz Club Band performing carols.”
“Nice place to camp, really chill and relaxing. There are toilets, water and shelter. Huge space to put your tent and/or park. You can also find some walks around the place and you'll see a number in case you want to rent a kayak to explore the lake.”
“An exceptionally beautiful beach where, with a bit of luck, you might spot many sea lions. Even if you don't see any, the beach is worth a visit, but the walk up and down is a bit arduous or takes a bit more time.”
“This area overlooks the St Kilda beach and can be booked out for events. The entirety of the drive up to Lawyers Head is open to vehicles between 11am and 3pm on weekdays, bollards are closed outside of these times making the area pedestrian only. Bollards are also locked on public holidays.”
“A good walk (3h return) with ups and downs following the Taieri river. Can be slippery, as the terrain is patched with rocks.”
“We had our end of season Hockey at Laserforce, and had 2 hours unlimited lasertag. It was amazing, the kids and adults all loved it. It's such a big space with an upstairs and downstairs. Everything is explained well and the staff are great. We were able to bring in outside foods and had Pizza Hut delivered from just around the road and brought in other drinks and foods. All and all I recommend this for a kids party or team building activity.”
