Took mid day tour as part of Disney Cruise line visit on November 27. Our guide, an animation major, was truly fantastic. His enthusiasm radiated through out the tour. While the layout is simple, the intimate access to real set pieces that you can touch and hold was awesome. Not to be missed if you are a LOTR fan or just fan of the magic of movie making.

Logan was very good at leading the tour and the whole thing was just very impressive and made me really proud to be a kiwi. We really have some amazing people in this little country or ours

We visited Wētā Workshop Group Space with Wellington Rings Tours, and it was absolutely amazing! Exploring the various Lord of the Rings filming locations was incredible, and the experience was made even better with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Wētā Workshop. Seeing the intricate costumes and props up close truly highlighted the level of detail and craftsmanship that went into bringing Middle-earth to life. It gave us an even greater appreciation for the immense effort behind these iconic films. A must-do for any fan!

We did the tour and it was awesome. Not allowed to take pictures during our tour, but there were some props and such you could take pictures of outside the tour area. The gift shop was very pricey which was expected, but other than the older gentleman the staff weren't particularly friendly at the gift shop. It was quite busy so I assume it may be better at different times or days.

I visited Weta Workshop today. Upon hearing really raving reviews about the tour I thought I'd take myself and my partner on it. As a HUGE lord of the rings fan who spent hours watching the making of the movies, I did feel slightly disappointed. Not being able to take photographs of props and items that I really loved was disappointing. We were told due to ownership and copyright laws that we couldn't. Once the main tour ended we were then taken on to see the Thunderbirds models. Which must be great if you have an interest in Thunderbirds, but I found myself looking up at the ceiling and twiddling my thumb's a bit. I understand that Weta is known for lots of other movies, but it was fair to say the majority of people who turned up came because of the lord of the rings movies and the hobbit films. It could have done with a lot of the props which are all currently in Peter Jackson's private collection. It couldn't be helped feeling a little disappointed that some of the things I wanted to see weren't there. The shop was okay, I felt like it was all very pricey. I got a few things which looked nice but thought there could have been more interesting items for people to buy. If you're looking to go, you see more lord of the rings items in the mini museum than on the tour. Save your money for some real life locations in stead.

Very interesting tour if you are a fan on LOTR or movies in general. We were able to see many original costumes and replicas of famous props, weapons, etc. They even let us hold some of the weapons. The tour also inclues a specific visit the the stage of Thunderbirds. Although I am not a fan, I found the visit worthwhile.

The tour guides are so knowledgeable about the film industry. As a huge LOTR fan, this was so awesome to see costumes and props in person. I loved it!

Well recommended tour. I was sceptical as I’m not the biggest LOTR’s fan but the tour is amazing with fun guides and contains lots of interesting content over a large variety of projects. Amazing skills from the artists involved.
