Staying at the North south campsite this reserve is about a 10 min walk away. Very nice place to go, paths around the 2 lakes. One lake is for jet skis and the other is for swimming and paddle boards and canoe's, I'm not sure if there's some where to hire the boards but there was some youngsters enjoying themselves on the lake.

I'm so grateful for such a beautiful resource. I lived in chch for years before discovering. I have walked, swam, boated, and my favorite, I play canoe polo weekly. Thank you thank you!!

Nice to be able to drive to the lake for a swim. There are good toilets and outdoor showers there plus a pontoon for jumping off.

I now know where Christchurch goes when they don't want to go to the beach. If you are going, go early as parking was at premium when I was there. Beautiful place with easy access from central city.

I do enjoy walking this area most often. The teens dragon boat here and swim many afternoons in a normal week...we enjoy a nice handy area with so much to offer..also one of the few places you can go and have a nice space for your family without too many others too close..like at a beach sometimes!

A good spot for a summer swim, 10 min from Christchurch city. Walking, dog walking or biking. Sit and watch the lake as planes take off...

Awesome family spot. Safe swimming loads of parking. Best picnic spot. Lacking in shade around the main area but plenty if you walk around a bit further.
