“Outstanding service and food. My partner and I came here because we were looking for a steak house within the Lower Hutt area to try. We were blown away with our rib eye steaks and desserts. I loved the mushroom sauce which came with the rib eye steak. For dessert I had the lemon tart which was delicious!! My partner had the Whitakers chocolate dessert; he loved it! It was too rich for me, but if you’re a sweet tooth you’d love it!”
“Hardware bar is the jewel in the crown for Stokes Valley dining. Its very warm, inviting, with staff that go above and beyond on service. Plus you can bring your fur baby here too!. The food is delicious with generous portion size. The Ribs are the best in Wellington. Will return again, and bring many more vistors”
“Our local - consistently great Indian take away food. Run by a lovely family.”
“Had such a great brunch here! The seafood chowder was beautifully creamy and packed with flavour, and the sourdough that came with it was perfect. All the drinks we tried (matcha, ube, and biscoff latte) were creative, fun, and absolutely delicious. My boyfriend had the chicken burger and wow it was so juicy and crispy, and the shoestring fries on the side were super tasty. Generous portions, really good value for money, and everything tasted amazing. Highly recommend!”
“Wow! If you want a freaking awesome burger that tastes like they do in the states this is the place to go. Excellent quality beef patty, the perfect sauce ratio, made for a delicious mouth watering experience. Will be back! Only slight neg was the wait time which was about 8 mins longer than the time stated on the booking. I guess that ain't so bad.”
“Great food and setting. Food tasty, sauce on Korean chicken bao too spicy hot for me & needs to be indicated. The dumplings were delicious.”
“Fantastic fish, with good size fillets for the fish n chips. The Chinese menu is extensive and are also fantastically cooked. Staff certainly know their stuff. Wait time is reasonable at around 10 minutes for most orders on a busy night in Waterloo. Fresh fish can also be bought here and also when in season Bluff Oysters. The entire place is spotless from top to bottom.”
“I love this shop. You must check expiry dates as some of the products are cheap because they are expired. Otherwise, you can find good deals. I go there to buy snacks and household products.”
“Aladdin's vegetarian kebabs are the only takeaway "treat" I indulge myself in regularly. (I even have a rewards card and I rarely bother with those). I say treat because this is such healthy food! The team at Aladdin's are always welcoming, they remember and clearly value their regular customers, and they offer consistently good service and food. My husband has now converted to the vegetarian kebab, they are that tasty! I highly recommend them.”
“Great place to get all your fresh fruit and veg for the week and then enjoy some brunch at one of the many food stalls offering food from many cultures and traditions! The Rewana is delicious too”
“Dined here for the first time and it was absolutely delicious! My friend and I got a medium big chicken pizza to share and it was so good! The place was very popular and the counter staff were friendly. Only downside to the experience was when I ordered a lemon meringue cheesecake and it was served to me still frozen so I had to have it takeaway, also we ordered garlic bread but they didn’t have any . Would definitely go back for the pizza though!”
“Wow is all I can say. I heard about Tuk Tuk thai over the years but we hadn't made it out of the city to try it. I am so glad we did as this was such beautiful Thai food. The atmosphere is lovely and you can tell that the owners put a lot of love into the decor. The service was great with friendly and attentive staff. But the food was the best Thai we've had in the wellington region. My husband and I both love Thai food and have tried most of the Thai restaurants in the wellington region, but Tuk Tuck Thai blew us away. The red curry is so silky, flavorful, and decadent and I felt like I was having a high end, luxurious Thai meal. The green curry was also very unctuous and flavorful with just the right hint of spice. The menu warns that both curry's come as medium, and we were a bit worried because we are not the best with spice, but neither were too spicy for us, so don't let that scare you off. We also had the roti with satay sauce and wow, the satay sauce is beautiful with great flavor, and one that you can tell is made in house. I 1000% recommend TukTuck Thai and if you have not tried it yet, please do, as you won't be disappointed. We are still talking about that meal the next day and cannot wait to go back.”
“One of my favorite places! Bagels here are very tasty, crunchy and fresh. I also love shakshouka and smoothies!”
“Today we visited with a couple of locals stating this Fish & Chip shop was amazing, We arrived to see quite a few people waiting outside, It’s a small but very busy shop, it took about 40 minutes for our order to be ready and it was worth the wait, We ordered a fish burger, crabmeat stick, crumbed fish, nuggets and cheeseburger for the kids and Garlic Butter Fries full scoop. Everything was amazing, a normally fussy child finished the cheese burger without a problem, the fish burger was great, and everything else was too! The surprise was the Garlic Butter Fries! They were amazing! Highly recommended if you ever visit here! There is some seating out the front, a little park across the road where you can sit and enjoy your meal or you can take it just around the corner near the water and watch the sunset. While waiting a lady mentioned she drove from upper hut to come here for the fish and chips as she use to live in the area many years ago which is about a 28 kilometer drive which is just over 17 miles. This is an online version of their menu, it is definitely worth the wait! https://qrmn.co/u3wwlq”
“We had a small memorial gathering here this week and the food was lovely and well priced. The staff were very accommodating. I would recommend this place and certainly will visit again.”
“Great place to eat with excellent food, very friendly staff and cool athmosphere.”
“Just got lotto and the young lady that served me was so welcoming and friendly.”
“It's a really friendly New World it's a bit further than our local one but we worth the trip. Fresh meats, pies, pastries and great selection of fruit and veggies it also has ready made section that has a fantastic fresh bowl with rice, edamame and chicken.”
“Our first time dining here and we were very impressed. The food was tasty, with a great range of healthy options for specific food requirements. Service was timely and very friendly. We will definitely be back.”
“It has everything you need. Coffee shops busy and free coffe with certain spend. Lotto with second chance draw. Great fish selection, bakery, deli and best range of wine and beers for a supermarket. Friendly and helpful staff. Self-service. Events with freebies and tastings. Wide aisles and not stacked high.”
“Always wonderful friendly staff. Please bring back the little kids trollies though! It's been years and my kids still ask about them.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped in with the family while visiting New Zealand and really enjoyed it. The pies were excellent – fresh, tasty and exactly what you want from a local bakery. Coffee was decent and did the job too. Great spot for a quick bite with the family. Would happily come back for the pies again!”
“Excellent environment and clean. Fresh fruits & veggies. Reasonably priced”
“Good coffee and tasty treats, a breakfast menu, sweet and savoury pastries and special meals Saturday evenings. Vegan treat options that I’ve enjoyed include the raspberry slice, ginger slice, brownie ball and a delectable, apple-and-cinnamon scroll. The scrambled-tofu on toasted sourdough (choice of bread) was very good too, served with dukkah and tomatoes. I’ve also attended a three-course vegan dinner: delicious, leek-potato soup with croutons, lentil shepherd’s pie and sticky toffee pudding with coconut-milk ice cream. Now licensed for beer and wine, including both non-alcoholic and regular Budvar, a classic Czech beer. More seating upstairs. Pleasant service.”
“A great playground! Loads of fun and spacious. Clean as well”
“Lovely lay-out, good selection of groceries and love that they still have a Deli and Bakery section where most supermarkets have moved to pre-packaged goods only. They have Lotto and also a Cafe at the entrance too.”
“Incredible medium cooked sirloin and gratin! Absolutely perfect! Served by Philippe who was very knowledgeable and provided a great wine recommendation to complement my meal. I overheard him talking with another table and he had excellent knowledge to share. The steak was easily the best I’ve ever had!”
“So many things in one place! From home brew gear to spices. Appreciate the amount of vegan things they sell.”
“Great atmosphere and vibes. Lovely, genuine staff. Excellent wines on offer. Can't wait to go back in summer and sit outside overlooking the park.”
“Get your old container and refill at cheap price or you can buy container in there and fill with product. Which is awesome. I went to get peanut butter but got whole lot of things.”
