Fab Saturday night at Gibbons Hotel - drawn in by The Relatives’ sensational sounds that kept the whole bar entertained and in festive spirits. Really impressed with the service - door, floor and bar staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient - love to see a team that takes ownership of their workplace and brings their energy and A-game to keep the place humming. Looking forward to coming back!

Great spot, the refit has been done well, one of the better places to perch up in Central wellington. Anna the bar tender was great and some hilarious banter! Recommended

Visited on 9 August evening, the band was very good, and the staff was also being very helpful, asked him about New Zealand beer and he let me taste 2 types and chose one of them, good beer and good service. I was by myself and I still had a good time!

This is a quaint little pub in the heart of Wellington. We parked down by the water front but you could find a park closer if you know the city better. We booked for lunch and the place was pretty quiet but we were served by a young lady who said if we didn't like the table we could sit anywhere. We ordered drinks and while we knew what we were going to order, perused then. It was Wellington on a plate month so it would be rude not to try the Schnitzel Von Crumb burger. Liked the Beverly Cleary reference. We asked how big the burger was and our waitress said it is a struggle to get through. Luckily they allow sharing so the girls shared there's while I gobbled down a whole one. We ordered a basket of fries to share. The burgers were delicious. Very crisp Crumb on the chicken schnitzel. Served with both a gravy and a cheesy white sauce that complimented the filling perfectly. Would happily visit again as the food was that good.

The steak specials are great, but.. asked for medium-rare, this came back blue rare. And when asked to have it put on the grill a bit longer, a new plate came back with an even grizzlier piece. Tough sinews and still bloody. The place was not particularly busy on an early Wednesday evening so this seemed like a case of the kitchen/front of house simply not caring. Beers also a little pricey—their pitcher was $35.

Had a meal & drinks here ladt night with some out of town friends. All fancied the WOAP burgers. They were all sold out. Fair enough, it happens. We quickly all decided on chicken burgers or fish & chips. Fish & chips were good (although the sauce was anything but Tartar). The chicken burgers, which were strips of chicken, were over cooked. One of the chicken meals, mine in particular, was terrible. So dry it was like eating rope. My meal came at least 10 minutes after my husbands, both were the same burger & ordered at the same time. The server aplogised, she didnt realise the meals were together! We've eaten here several times now & it's always been ok. I don't like to waste $ on eating out, so I won't be back to eat again unfotunately. Disappointing.

Been coming here for years to enjoy the Tuesday quiz and the atmosphere has always been fun. The staff are super friendly but often make silly mistakes, I see this place as a good place to get a drop and have never minded and they’re always quick to make amends. Recent changes to the menu don’t fit with the bar and there isn’t a crumb of value for money in sight. The new food doesn’t really taste that good, I had the chicken burger last week and it was dry and the portion size was tiny, got a portion of fries to tide me over this week and they were unsalted and undercooked. Bad decision to make changes as the food used to be pretty good. Our group has started thinking about finding somewhere new to quiz on tuesdays. Would not recommend coming here if you’re planning on eating.

Cool place for a quick bit to eat. Steak was cooked to perfection, chips were delish and salad was nice and fresh. Service was excellent. Have been a few times and will continue to do so :)

Excellent hospitality, Excellent food and drinks..menu has a good variety, I throughly recommend the pub specials which you access ordering online while you sit in the pub, don't worry if your not tech savvy the staff will help you every step of the way. We had the med-rare steak meal, cob loaf,burger..alot of tradies eating meals, a good indication meals are fast to the table and great value..Highly recommended ,mushroom sauce with the steak or the garlic butter hard to choose both lip smacking good!!

Hearty food, maybe a bit too much salt. Excellent service. Great location in the middle of the dining and entertaining part of the city. High and low tables, couches, outdoor smoking area, a stage for a band, even a door man to keep the overdressed out. Good range of beer. Irish themed.
