“On a tour with the NZ Founders Society, we visited Duart House, built in 1882. What an amazing old house with so much interesting history and a museum of historic artifacts, furniture, paintings, tools, bric-a-brac, etc. Absolutely loved it and so appreciated the presentation by the ladies who are so involved with this precious property. WELL WORTH A VISIT!!”
“Brilliant. We hired bikes and zoomed along the water front. Totally loved it.”
“Low tide brings out a good variety of water birds”
“A fountain with a statue over it. Nice spot to stop on the shore line in Napier beach.”
Bangkok House keeps things classic fish-and-chips and focused on flavour. Noodles arrive glossy and well seasoned. A sensible spend for the quality. Woks keep a quick pace and good sear. Portions suit...
“Great little zoo to get up and close with the animals. Very reasonable entry prices and giftwares that are available in the mini store area. Feed is also available for feeding the animals on site. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location wasn't too bad either. Would happily visit again in the future.”
“Another fantastic spot to take a photo of trains heading through this one of a kind water feature. Over the years, the Clock Tower has been another one of those popular places to get a photo of a train. The perfect time to get one is a mid-morning to lunchtime shot with the train heading through. The train has to be heading Northbound to get it spot on. This also means you get the Clock Tower poking out behind the trees. Highly recommended for any Rail Enthusiast's Wank Bank on their computer, aka, a Foamer Bank”
“Awesome place to take the kids with their scooters and skateboards. Beautiful place to have you hold outs ( takeaways)”
The kitchen at Ho Wha Takeaways takes a Chinese takeout path and lets the food speak. The room sits relaxed with an easy buzz. Service stays present without fuss. Packaging keeps things crisp on arrival.
“Beautiful and peaceful. No walking needed, drive to waterfall.”
“Good is absolutely delicious and comes in big portions which makes it work the price, the customer service is top notch and the atmosphere of this place is also really good. The shortbread cookies as well as the other baked goods that they had should definitely be in your list of things to try. Thank you for your lovely service Kamal.”
“Love this place! Some awesome specimens of fish. Got to watch the penguin feeding and later the big fish feeding. Great way to enjoy a few hours. They also have kiwis”
“For what is a small city in global terms, the Gallery consistently features a wide range of exhibitions. It also keeps children in mind with activities and space to show their creative abilities. The white Lego bricks last year was a (literally) a huge success.”
“So enjoy wandering in on a Saturday morning, enjoying the beautiful Clive Square atmosphere. Great spot for a crepe n coffee for breakfast. And to pick up bread, veggies and pastries”

“It's an amazing place to rest, reflect and relax”
“I liked it. the only mistake is that the showers and women's cells were closed. but I understand that it is for safety.on the spot you will get something like a telephone where a good description of the place is recorded in fourteen languages and also a lot of interesting facts about places or people connected with the prison. the graffiti on the walls or beds were interesting. I believe that we will also play an escape room.”
“This is our go-to fish shop. We travel from Hastings as it is so much better than the rest (we are super picky about fish). They are always so kind and welcoming, and the takeaways always delicious. Usual order is a fish burger, scoop of chips, snapper/gurnard, and maybe some extra seafood bits. The scallops have been very small recently but apart from that everything is top notch. No room to eat in store but is one of the best takeaways around.”
“Wow, absolutely stunning location. Gorgeous house with lovely host and thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting, the breakfast arrival basket was a lovely gesture also”
“New art display and new big open field in the central part of town where people can relax with cafes nearby or even a bar just a short walk over the road . Good use of space just needs a couple of nice oak trees put there for shade during the summer time and could be used during blossom parade if they added a couple blossom trees to or near the corner/s”
“This pre mean spot bro also my mountain around here yo”
“Great thinking spot. Beautiful views, take a picnic with.”
“It was a amazing and lovely experience and highly recommend to everyone”
“This tour is above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Don is a wonderful guide, sharing not only his endless knowledge of wine and wine making, but also his knowledge of the region and its fascinating history and culture. His own life and family history are woven into the wonderful stories he recounted. This is not a tour to just taste wines and move on to the next place. This is a tour of quality, to soak up knowledge and the beauty of the area. This is an exclusive, educational, beautiful and delicious tour. Thank you Don!”
“An in depth and very enjoyable experience with an interesting and well informed guide.”
“Great experience!! This was our first helicopter flight. Shawn is a great pilot and made our day. Don't hesitate to do this if you are on a cruise as he picks you up and brings you back to town.”

“Great place to stay we had a cabin that was perfect for our trip to Wellington nice family atmosphere very quiet in evenings”
On the plate at Drift Cafe, Restaurant & Bar, Napier, the idea is classic fish-and-chips and well executed. A sensible spend for the quality. Sweets lean classic and not overly rich. Good value shows in the serve sizes.
