“Absolutely beautiful homestay to stay in. We arrived late but it was no problem as we were given the self check in instructions. Everything there that you could possibly need. Lovely having a TV in the room too. Comfortable bed, quiet & relaxing. Fully equipped kitchen made it so easy for us to have breakfast, which of course we brought with us. “Echoing the sentiments of the other reviews, this experience was superb. The Kowhai site was beautiful, comfortable, and serene. Private, quiet, and wonderful view. The decor and styling was awesome, I loved their taste. They have thought of everything and you want for nothing during the stay. I highly recommend taking advantage of the catered DIY meal and grazing board. Don’t miss out reading up on the history of Clifton and the family- fascinating story! “An interesting and enjoyable way to explore Napier, especially if you have limited time available. We booked our excursion through the ship that we were cruising on, the tour operator picked us up near the ship's gangway, and returned us there with plenty of time to spare before our scheduled sailing time. The tour is operated by a father and son team, who also constructed the "train" which transports it's passengers around the Napier CBD and surrounding areas. The son drives the "locomotive" (a modified agricultural tractor), and provides commentary about the history of Napier, with an emphasis on the 1931 earthquake which largely destroyed the city, and the subsequent rebuilding effort, which resulted in most of the buildings being designed in the Art Deco style. His delivery style includes a great deal of dry humour.”

“The large cottage was lovely and very well appointed. Was not lacking any amenities. Our weather wasn’t that warm so didn’t get to sit outside. The king size bed was so comfortable! I enjoyed a bath (both nights) in the separate bathroom. The bathing products were awesome. The cottages are a bit out of the way but such a great coffee place down the road. So you need to drive a bit to restaurants and wineries which we didn’t mind. There are bikes available to rent onsite. Overall this was one of our favourite places we stayed while in NZ. We loved the country feel but the modern look. Annabel had left fresh eggs which we cooked up for breakfast one am. Lovely!”

“What an incredible find! Don't let the lack of online booking dissuade you from staying here- it's an amazing place with truly wonderful hosts. Charlotte and Stephen were so welcoming to the four of us (2 couples), from chatting about their journey to Greenhill, to sharing local recommendations, to amazing homecooked meals (definitely take them up on daily breakfast, and you have to eat dinner in at least once!). We felt very at home, and there were no shortage of spots to relax and soak in the beauty of Hawke's Bay. All guest rooms open to the front porch or the back courtyard, they're spacious and well-appointed, with modern bathrooms and homey touches. The billiard room is especially fun, as was the pool area (complete with cedar 2-person hot tub). We loved meeting all the resident animals (alpacas, mini ponies, goats, dogs, cats), but guests with animal allergies should be aware that a few of the fur babies are indoor pets. I wish we could have stayed longer, Greenhill would be the perfect place to get away from it all for an extended visit to the countryside!”

Make sure you don't miss Marcus' 5 course dinner with wine pairing. It's unbelievable! The best dinner I've had in Hawkes Bay. The attention to detail was impeccable. The flavours were exquisite. The hospitality was next level. If you ever get a chance to stay with Marcus and Ellie..do it! It will not be regretted.”

“I can’t thank Eden enough for her help this week. My beautiful siamese cat and I live in Auckland and we were visiting family in Havelock North this week. Unfortunately my cat ingested a long piece of string and I called the practice for advice. Eden could easily have said she was too busy given I’m not a patient at the practice. Instead she listened, asked questions and immediately spoke to the vet and then gave me easy to follow advice on what to do next. When I went to the clinic, Eden talked me through the signs and symptoms that could indicate an obstruction and had prepared emergency after hours instructions on how and where to get help. Eden also made several follow up calls over the coming days just to check my cat was ok. I just can’t express how grateful I am for the care and support we received. Eden is an absolute legend and a true ambassador for Pet First. If I lived in HN I would enrol here in a heartbeat. Thank you!”

“My wife and I came to Napier for a ‘Wine holiday’ to visit the vineyards in the local area. We chose 415 because of its high reviews on google and trip advisor… It was awesome, the rooms have been beautifully renovated and very warm when it was only 1 degree outside. The location was great, close to restaurants and easy to find on the main beach road. Our hosts Tom & Esther were great company helping us find the vineyards we wanted to visit and guide us away from some we didn’t know were closed. Cooked a great breakfast too!”
