Without doubt one of the most memorable family holidays we have ever had. The Cottage was beautiful, the service impeccable, and the grounds were fabulous. Our children played in the garden non-stop and loved the tree house and the zipline. Jacqui made sure there were little treats for us everyday. I cannot speak highly enough about Te Mata House. A huge thank you. We will be back! x

What a jewel! We LOVED staying at the adorable Cottage at Te Mata House. It is perfectly tucked into a stunning historic area that boasts an original 1850's home, lavender fields, a beautiful swimming pool, gym, hot tub and pastures filled with horses, 4 friendly sheep and a gorgeous pig named Delila. One of the best parts of our stay was petting and feeding the critters. Innkeeper Jacquie is SO in touch with providing every amenity--from tasty breakfast food in the kitchen, a bottle of wine, bicycles, the newest appliances, a cedar hot tub, and cozy, comfortable linens and towels. My husband and I even photographed the cottage so we can copy some of the architectural designs if we ever build our own little getaway in the States. Great location close to Napier, North Havelock, wineries, the beach, etc etc!

Staying at Te Mata House was an absolute highlight of our honeymoon not only because of the beautiful surrounding area, but also because the accommodations and grounds were so welcoming and relaxing. At Te Mata House, we were so close to many of Hawkes Bay's highlights: Craggy Range, Black Barn, Te Mata Peak, and even coastal attractions just a manageable bike trail away (bikes are provided). That said, sometimes it was hard to leave the property with the well stocked kitchen, pool, tennis court, picnic locations, and even Delilah the friendly pig on site (fenced in). Lastly, while the hosts, Jacqueline and family, are on site, their house is independent and disconnected from our guest house, so a stay at Te Mata House really does feel like a luxury, private farm stay experience. Everything at Te Mata House is so perfectly considered and executed, and Jacqueline and family could not have been warmer and more welcoming. We would be thrilled to stay here again.

Te Mata House is the perfect property in Hawkes Bay. It is conveniently located to several wineries and restaurants (Te Mata, Craggy Range, Blackbarn, etc) and beautifully kept. Jacqueline is a 5 star host, and was even able to accomodate us on extremely short notice. The cottage fits 4 guests comfortably, with two full sized bedrooms and a cozy living room, kitchen, and backyard patio that includes a hot tub. The beds are extremely comfortable and the cottage is perfectly decorated and organized. The property itself is on a gorgeous farm with the most beautiful animals. The entire landscape is just gorgeous and perfectly kept!

The beautiful gardens and cottage were a delight. Jacqueline was warm and genuine. Location was great for Havelock North and the beautiful coast line. We will definitely book Te Mata House next time.

Te Mata House is not only a stunning property, but well located and we enjoyed every minute of being there. Waking up surrounded by grapevines was wonderful and in fact the gardens are quite remarkable. Kids were spoilt for choice with the treehouse, flying fox, tennis court and pool. Jacqui is not only an incredible host, but has put so much time and effort into the design and every last detail is luxury from the decor to the hand-wash, homemade quince jelly and Nespresso coffee. We'll definitely be back!

We recently stayed at Te Mata House in The Old Stables. As soon as we arrived we knew we were in for a treat. The property has been beautifully restored yet has kept all of its character. The communication was outstanding and our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. It is perfectly located in Havelock North nestled amongst all of the wineries you'd want to visit and is a short drive to the beach. If you are looking for a place to stay in Hawkes Bay - look no further!

Amazing accommodation and hosts. I would recommend Te Mata House to anyone who enjoys staying in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Suitable for an adult-only stay, with gorgeous and private quarters - or with the kids as the onsite activities are extensive and family friendly. I have already penciled in my next stay.

The Old Stables have been beautifully renovated and the rest of the property is amazing. The location is just out of town so nice and relaxing but still close enough to be able to easily visit the vineyards and fabulous restaurants nearby. Jackie and Giselle are fantastic hosts. We will be back if the opportunity arises and will recommend to our friends too.
