Absolutely amazing experience. First of all, the train carriages were built by the tour guide Will (amazing). All the metal work done by Will and his family. Wow!!! Beautiful old timey curtains made by his mum also. Will is knowledgeable, quick witted and passionate. Loved hearing everything he had to say and he made us laugh. We got to see so much and learned a lot about Napier. At the end he gifted my son a train whistle which was just such a sweet and lovely gesture. Loved the whole experience and cannot recommend this tour enough. Thank you Will.

This was a wonderful tour that we did as part of our cruise ship shore excursion. It was so much fun sitting on the train being taken around while enjoying the scenery and the commentary. We were in the end carriage facing the cars behind us and everyone enjoyed waving and smiling at the train passing by. Will was very funny and this has definitely been a highlight in NZ. Thank you Will and Krysia and we highly recommend!

Took a tour with the fabulous hand built train (with help from his dad) from the cruise directly into town. The narration was relevant and engaging showing the deep knowledge and love he has for this city and its inhabitants. Take this tour, you will not regret it!

A brilliant 'petit train' ride around Napier. Visits lots of interesting places and a really good commentary about the town and region. Starts and ends in the centre of town so gives a good idea where to walk from there. A big thumbs up.

An interesting and enjoyable way to explore Napier, especially if you have limited time available. We booked our excursion through the ship that we were cruising on, the tour operator picked us up near the ship's gangway, and returned us there with plenty of time to spare before our scheduled sailing time. The tour is operated by a father and son team, who also constructed the "train" which transports it's passengers around the Napier CBD and surrounding areas. The son drives the "locomotive" (a modified agricultural tractor), and provides commentary about the history of Napier, with an emphasis on the 1931 earthquake which largely destroyed the city, and the subsequent rebuilding effort, which resulted in most of the buildings being designed in the Art Deco style. His delivery style includes a great deal of dry humour.

We were recent passengers on Sea Princess and chose your tour. It was a magical experience and gave us an insight into a very interesting town. Thank you Will and your Dad for helping make our holiday.

Came in on a cruise ship, this was a fantastic way to get a bit of history (and there is some really interesting history on why the whole town is Art Deco), visit a few local places and generally get the lay of the land before you spend the rest of the afternoon revisiting the bits you liked the most. Even the hsitory on how the Train/Tractor came into being is amusing and interesting. Perhaps the biggest thing was that the info from the driver was pretty laid back and genuine a "warts and all" history. Well worth it.
