Good food, though on the pricier side compared to similar establishments, but the overall experience—from attentive service to a welcoming ambiance—was fantastic.

This was our first time visiting, and it was such a treat. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the menu had a great selection to choose from. We really enjoyed the shared dishes, and the guidance on serving sizes. Everything we ordered was delicious. My faves were the prawn toast and crispy aubergine. We’ll definitely be back.

I had dinner at Ghost Street last night with a group of friends. I ended up having a severe allergic reaction because the kitchen served me a dish containing peanuts, despite me clearly stating I have a life-threatening peanut allergy. I ended up vomiting the entire meal back up… I asked the waitress before ordering if anything couldn’t be made safe. She checked with the kitchen and told us only two dishes had peanuts, and both could be modified. We didn’t order either of them. We ordered 8 dishes to share plus 2 deserts. Partway through the meal, I started reacting. My throat swelled, I felt sick and turned completely red. I suspected the dan dan noodles and asked the waitress to double-check. She was kind and reassured us again, but went back to the kitchen just in case. Turns out the dan dan noodles did contain peanuts. This wasn’t a cross-contamination issue. I looked back at photos from the night and you can clearly see peanuts in the dish. The kitchen either didn’t know what was in their food or didn’t care enough to check properly, which is grossly negligent on their part. Their idea of fixing it? Remove the dan dan noodles from the bill and offer a replacement dish “on the house,” which they still attempted to charge us for. I cannot fathom how this was considered an acceptable response to a potentially fatal incident. Not listing peanuts on the menu for dishes that clearly contain them, coupled with NOT keeping waitstaff informed is reckless and inexcusable. This was a medical emergency and could have had far worse consequences. Ghost Street needs to make serious changes to how they handle allergens. Someone else might not be as lucky…

A little bit cute. Ghost Street is tucked away downstairs beneath their sister eatery Cafe Hanoi. It's giving hole in the wall, speakeasy type vibes and it's got it's own nuances, you need to come and check it out for yourself. The food was delicious, I couldn't get enough of it although we were told the plates were sharing platters and is enough for two, I'm not sure why we listened coz we already know we need a triple helping. If you are big eaters, get one serve each. Cocktails came out quickly and staff were attentive.

From the moment I walked in, the service was exceptional – warm, attentive, and perfectly paced. You can tell the team really cares about the guest experience. The noodles were delicious, packed with flavour and perfectly cooked, but the real standout was the scallop wonton. Smooth, delicate, almost shy at first – and then bam! – the chilli oil hits with a bold, beautiful punch. It’s a dish that’s both elegant and fiery, and absolutely outstanding. Ghost Street nails the balance of refined textures with powerful flavours. I will definitely be back. I’ve told my friend Aurimas (based here) that it’s the perfect date night venue too!

Best place for a taste of authentic Chinese cuisine. Excellent service from host, waiter to chefs. Fast and also in for a cheeky lil banter/comment. The price is worth the food and vibe of the restaurant top it off toilets are clean. We were full by the 3rd plate so come empty and the drinks will knock you out if you’re not careful. Definitely paying your worth and very excited to bring friends and family to this gem.

Went here for Restaurant Month and was so glad I did! Highlights were definitely the lamb ribs, the biang biang pulled noodles and the prawn & sesame toast. Atmosphere was cute for date night with dim lighting with a candle lit table. Service was amazing - would come back!!

Service, amazing. Food, incredible. Drinks, insane. This should be an Auckland institution. The service and atmosphere is incredible. It gets a tad loud the later in the evening you go but that's purely because of the underground nature. The food was incredible. Standouts were the scallop wonton, stir fried eye fillet and fried rice. This place is all about strong punchy flavours so be prepared. All in all, a great experience.

If you love chilli and spice this is the place for you. Lovely tasty food, excellent friendly staff. Quick turnaround even when busy. Scallops so delicious as are the margaritas!

The food was delicious. Everything seemed perfect, however, I didn't feel comfortable when I saw the kitchen staff eating in the kitchen when they prepared our food. Not sure what standard is in New Zealand, but I think the staff should eat in the staff room during their break time.
