Excellent service, one person (order taker) really kind, dedicated and hard working serving everyone in the restaurant. Food was really nice a bit spicy but depends on what you order. Thanks Cheff Joe, will visit again.
Updated June 2023 - They changed hand, it is no longer cook by the same Chef (the restaurant's name is misleading!?). The tastes are completely different. I ordered sambal and curry, both of them are a little bit bitter. The satay chicken is too sweet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was their customer since they opened in Auckland Night maket. I'm so glad they are now have their own restaurant. There are more options than night market. Very friendly owner and very tasty food
Ordered 4 dishes for 2 adult and 1 child. It is too much but we could not resist ourselves after reading the menu. Foods are nice, authentic and reasonably priced. Will come back again to try for other dishes.
Delicious Malaysian/Indian flavours in the heart of Panmure. Always a joy to see the lovely smiles of Chef Joe and his wife. Warm and friendly service in the restaurant and very in touch with the communtiy. Their menus are constantly changing so there is always new surprises every time you visit. Thank you to the staff at Bakar for always welcoming everyone with great service and bringing amazing flavours of South East Asia!
My very first time here, and a enjoyable one good experience! Heard a lot of the restaurant, finally got a chance to try to celebrate dear friend's birthday. Never been to Malaysia personally I am not qualified to judge the authenticity. But they are simply delicious! I believe they are doing Malaysian food instead of Malaysian Chinese very different from my previous experiences. If the Chef is confident enough to put his name in the restaurant so you know you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended this is truly yummy. Make sure you book before you go their business is too good to be true.
Came here for lunch over the long weekend. Tried the coffee and tea combo with condensed milk which was so yummy. The chicken satay was good especially the sauce with it. The fish curry and the beef rendang were so yummy. Definitely get the coconut rice and anchovy sambal. I also got the fried fish which was nice but I wanted it more spicy. If you havenβt been here do so the couple that runs it are so passionate about the food and really value every person that walks through the door
A stress-free Christmas feast, who wouldn't want! Thank you for preparing such amazing dishes for our Christmas dinner, all our guests had enjoyed every single one especially the rendang turkey, the flavors were amazing!! We're from the other side of town but will surely drop in and dine if we're passing by in the new year!
