   Was just passing by and thought it looked tasty in the window so came back for dinner and wow ! It's been a long time since I've had a steak so good. I ordered the Pacific steak which is a filet mignon stuffed with crab and topped with prawns and béarnaise sauce and there wasn't a slither of fat on it, was cooked just right and I really enjoyed it. The decor is cute I was reading the menu about Tony's story being the og steakhouse of Auckland and he said it was English pub inspired, as a Brit who hasn't been home in 4 months I enjoyed that (speaking of it was so much cheaper than what we'd pay in England for a steak) I also found the staff really nice, didn't catch their names but they were nice and friendly

   A fantastic spot with unbelievably good steak. Booking is definitely recommended, and the service is outstanding. We were made to feel very welcome by our server, and everyone was friendly! The food was served promptly, and was hot and fresh. I had the Tony's original and my wife had the Pacific steak. Both were cooked exactly to our liking, with beautiful sides and an excellent selection of drinks to go with your meal. Leave space for dessert so you can try their pavlova!

   What a great place for steak! It was my first time eating at this place and I am impressed! The waitress was so friendly and attentive. I ordered Tony's Original. It was mouthwatering delicious. The scotch fillet was so tender and cooked perfectly to my liking. You can either have mashed potatoes or chips and salad or vegetables. The portion is quite big for me so I couldn't stomach any dessert. I left satisfied though. I will definitely come back!

   Tony’s is a solid spot in Auckland if you’re after classic comfort food, good service, and a laid-back atmosphere. I went in with high expectations and left mostly satisfied. The overall vibe was warm and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The menu offers a nice range of options, and the pricing felt very reasonable considering the portion sizes and quality. I ordered a steak, which I was really looking forward to—it came slightly overcooked compared to what I had requested, but it was still flavorful and well-seasoned. Not perfect, but not a deal-breaker either. The sides complemented the meal nicely, and everything was served promptly. What stood out most was the service. The team on the floor made sure we were comfortable throughout the night, checked in at the right moments, and handled everything with a smile. That alone makes a big difference in the dining experience. All in all, it was an enjoyable evening. Tony’s may not be pushing any culinary boundaries, but it delivers solid food, good value, and a friendly experience. I’d definitely return—and next time, I’ll just be more specific about how I want my steak.

   Tried our luck without a booking on a busy Tuesday evening- we were lucky! The atmosphere entering the restaurant was bustling yet nostalgic and welcoming. My friend and I both ordered medium rare steaks- after being tempted by the pastas on offer I must say. It was cooked exactly to my liking, and the seasoned vegetables were delicious and rounded the meal well with the fries. Lemon and passion fruit cheesecake I chose for dessert looked impressive, but unfortunately lacked in any kind of flavour other than creamy. Other than that our evening at Tony’s was a good one. Our waitress was also friendly and charismatic. Will definitely be going back to Tony’s the next time I visit Auckland.

   Came on a Wed for lunch, am glad I did my reservation, they were def busy. I managed to get a booth seat so it was really relaxed and quiet. Noticed the light bulbs were frosted to make it seemed like it was raining. See pic. Sf chowder was creamy, had bits of mussels, surimi and squid. Steak doneness was perfectly done according to my preference. Next time will definitely order from the main menu instead of from the lunch menu. But the lunch menu was truly economical.

   What more can anyone say about Tony's? It's had an amazing reputation for decades and it does not disappoint. Four of us ate there - a spaghetti bolognaise, a lamb shanks on mash, a pacific steak (stuffed with crab meat and prawns and finished with Bernaise sauce) and the seafood platter. The portions are extremely generous and the ingredients are of a fantastic quality - nothing could be faulted. We had plenty of drinks (including some cocktails) plus desserts, and it was the best value meal we have had in our whole trip back home this time. I had forgotten this iconic Auckland spot until this trip home, and I think next time we come home to NZ for a trip we will be eating at Tony's again. Great meal!

   Absolutely beautiful and delicious! I got a half portion of the lamb shanks (normally comes with 2) and my husband had the scotch fillet. The meals were perfection, we didn't wait long and the staff were incredible! Thank you so much! Their prices are very affordable especially considering the food is of exceptional quality. They deserve an award.
