She greeted and welcome us as we came in, explained the menu quite well and had a lovely chat while waiting for our order. It looked like she was working alone that day handling the customer service, the cooking, clearing tables and phone... Good management and prioritising skills...She's a good representation of your company. I hope she gets a well deserved reward and recognition...She works soo hard!!!!”

“Does anyone remember Eagle Boys or Pizza Haven? From the 90s? This place reminds me of that style pizza. Pan base with crispy crust. I see some 1 stars. However, I didn't have that experience. The touch screen was easy to use, and I had a 10-15 min wait. It was a busy Wednesday night. - Meat lovers 8.8/10 $21.99 Large Crust had great crisp, under the topping was a thin layer of bbq sauce, which I like as opposed to a pizza that's doused in sauce. Meatball pieces are the best topping. I wish more of it was on the pizza. Blame price - Cheese pizza 7.5/10 $9.99 Small Same base as the meat lovers, nice cheese used, and nice grill bubbles on cheese.”

“It was my first time trying the Pepperoni and Manhattan pizzas at Sal's Pizza Takapuna, and I was impressed! The base was thin and crispy—just the way I like it—and the flavors were amazing. Their potatoe chips were delicious too! The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend Sal's Pizza Takapuna! You made my movie night super easy and completely fuss-free. “A Hidden Gem on Dominion Road We’ve passed by Spicy House countless times and finally decided to step in – and what a delightful decision it was! This small restaurant has its unique charm: it’s compact, bustling, yet incredibly well-organized. Despite the busy atmosphere, the efficiency and attentiveness of the staff stood out. There were five staff members at the front counter, ensuring every request was promptly addressed and tables were swiftly cleaned and turned over for the next guests. One of the most striking aspects of Spicy House is its diverse clientele. It’s arguably the only Chinese restaurant in Auckland where you’ll find more non-Chinese customers than Chinese, which speaks volumes about its broad appeal and the quality of its food. Speaking of the food, it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, and the beef was particularly noteworthy – tender and perfectly cooked. Each dish we tried was a testament to the culinary skills of the kitchen staff. The prices are reasonable, offering great value for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, our experience at Spicy House was fantastic. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a standout on Dominion Road. We will definitely be back to enjoy more of their delightful offerings. Highly recommended!”

“My spouse loves this place. They got out of the hospital and the first thing they wanted was to order the udon through UberEats. It's their favourite udon in this city. I also enjoy the salmon teriyaki and chicken katsu donburi and we always get several miso soup as they're quite good.”

“Ordered : Mapo Tofu (vegan), Kung paw Chicken and rice ($2.5/ bowl) Good quality and quantity for the price. Mapo Tofu - Order max spice level. Good quantity spicy Sichuan pepper. Simple loved it with rice. Kung paw chicken - more of peanuts than chicken but flavour taste. Loved peanuts as it had a sweet taste but no Sichuan pepper. Not too spicy as Mapo Tofu.”

Service is a little slow (we waited almost 40 mins for tacos because I think they forgot our order). reservations needed for dinner or come after 830pm. “Had lunch here today and ordered the chicken katsu donburi special for only $17.50. Best value for lunch, as it also comes with a small bowl of miso soup. The chicken katsu was tasty and the serving size is enough to make me full. The salad is good as well as the carrot tempura with dipping sauce. The staff is nice and friendly. Will come back to try the sushi train or some other food in the menu, and better with my family.”
