“Typical Chinese fast food restaurant. Their spicy chicken noodles was delicious. The large portion was really large and could be for sharing. Otherwise, you can eat it alone and be really full. Lamb soup was also tasty. They have fine texture of noodles, which can be substituted by glass or thin noodles. Prices are affordable and very generous servings.”

“Before it was a Takeaway it was a video store in the 90s. We used to go here before and after Intermediate to buy lollies and play video games good times”

“The restaurant has been renovated and looks a lot modern. We ordered the Deep fried dough sticks with soy bean milk, Changsha stinky Tofu, Taiwan braised beef noodles, Spiced noodle with spicy beef and Saliva chicken. All very tasty and great value. The only downside for this area is the lack of parking”

“Staff there are very friendly. I like the choices and flavor of food there. They also give you free rice or drink if you spend over $25 and sometimes free cucumber salad. The interiors is a lot nicer now after the recent renovation.”

She greeted and welcome us as we came in, explained the menu quite well and had a lovely chat while waiting for our order. It looked like she was working alone that day handling the customer service, the cooking, clearing tables and phone... “Does anyone remember Eagle Boys or Pizza Haven? From the 90s? This place reminds me of that style pizza. Pan base with crispy crust. I see some 1 stars. However, I didn't have that experience. The touch screen was easy to use, and I had a 10-15 min wait. It was a busy Wednesday night. - Meat lovers 8.8/10 $21.99 Large Crust had great crisp, under the topping was a thin layer of bbq sauce, which I like as opposed to a pizza that's doused in sauce. Meatball pieces are the best topping. I wish more of it was on the pizza. Blame price - Cheese pizza 7.5/10 $9.99 Small Same base as the meat lovers, nice cheese used, and nice grill bubbles on cheese.”

“It was my first time trying the Pepperoni and Manhattan pizzas at Sal's Pizza Takapuna, and I was impressed! The base was thin and crispy—just the way I like it—and the flavors were amazing. Their potatoe chips were delicious too! The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend Sal's Pizza Takapuna! You made my movie night super easy and completely fuss-free. There were five staff members at the front counter, ensuring every request was promptly addressed and tables were swiftly cleaned and turned over for the next guests. One of the most striking aspects of Spicy House is its diverse clientele. It’s arguably the only Chinese restaurant in Auckland where you’ll find more non-Chinese customers than Chinese, which speaks volumes about its broad appeal and the quality of its food. Speaking of the food, it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, and the beef was particularly noteworthy – tender and perfectly cooked. Each dish we tried was a testament to the culinary skills of the kitchen staff. The prices are reasonable, offering great value for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, our experience at Spicy House was fantastic. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a standout on Dominion Road.
