“Very pretty duck, fish, and lily flower lake! A spot for many photos as seen by everyone posing”
“Best place in Auckland to work out. Awesome friendly staff. Amazing coffee. Highly recommend. Cheers Barrington”
“Great park for smaller dogs. Relatively safe in the bowl area as you can keep a watch on them! My pup absolutely loves this park and can run around safely under supervision.”
“Absolutely beautiful spot in Auckland for the whole family, including the dog/s. Massive off leash area. Nice walking tracks and beautiful outlook. We absolutely loved our morning spent slowly making our way around the Orakei Basin. Definitely check out google/the council website before you go, though. If you're planning to do the loop walk I'd say you'd struggle with a pram due to the stairs near the Sailing Club House. Other than this, absolutely highly rate this walk. Was 10/10 for our family.”
“Over looking the Huia bay, this picturesque lookout offers a breathtaking sight of the backwaters in the Waitakere region. A short yet lovely escape place from the city. Ideal to visit in the evenings with friends and family , right before sunset. Visiting this place is totally free of cost with ample parking space available. For groups visiting with toddlers and children below age of 10, it’s better to be careful and monitor while walking towards the viewing deck thought the railings are quite high.”
“Beautiful area! Pristine environment and freshest air on Earth! Beautiful sites. New Zealand is so gorgeous!”
“Lovely family beach. Great outdoor playground for the kids. My only critique is it could do with a few more picnic tables/benches to sit at.”
“The absolute best speedway venue ever! Should never have been shut down! Bring back Western Springs!”
“Really happy with Mairangi Bay swim school. Teachers are great and booking is easy. Caitlin is so sweet and gentle with the beginners and Abbey is super encouraging and kind with the next level, calmly redirecting kids attention to the the tasks.”
“Just lovely. Easily accessible from Auckland via the downtown to Devonport ferry with a walk over an old volcano! Great views, clear water. As much a locals spot as fir tourists. Great ice cream shop nearby. Had a fantastic last swim in New Zealand.”
“A must see if coming to Auckland, such a beautiful place to go for a trek along the different trails, or a quick dip to cool off on the hot days we have here, the waterfall is beautiful and such a nice backdrop for the family photo. Can get busy during the weekends so may have to park up the drive down and walk down, a fairly easy gradient too.”
“Awesome place to be and really nice walking track with great views”
“My family of three, which includes a 9 year old, loved this event on vacation!! Two hours was plenty to learn time be safe and try the rapids several times. Options were available for swim levels to drift downstream. Our guide, George, was amazing and persistent with the three children in our raft without being harsh. Video is purchased separately for your experiences. The changing area is large and clean.”
“Amazing tutors and staff, always accommodating when needed, great system for make up classes etc and so friendly. We’ve been coming for just over a year and seen wonderful progress.”
“Such a beautiful, tranquil spot! Unlike the wild West Coast surf beaches, Cornwallis is calm and perfect for kids to splash around safely.”
“Amazing bike track as you can see in my pictures. They have huge bike park with various tracks for all different levels. We just tried few track for beginners for 2 hours and we loved it. Also, they have a good quality of their rental bikes.”
“We have enrolled my daughter in Fulton swim school at age of 3.5 year. She has learned very quickly as the swimming teaching technique and skills so good and easily learned. She is getting training from Mark as he is very exceptional teacher. Highly recommended.”
“Great place for a scenic walk and explore the historic tunnels and learn some history. Access to a beautiful long beach, 360 degree views across Tamaki Makaurau. Native flora and fauna.”
“Very helpful staff. Great products. Outstanding customer service. After an online order was lost by the courier company, Bianca and the sales team followed up promptly and organized a new shipment after receiving confirmation from the courier. Highly recommend Barton McGill.”
“I had a kitchen extractor put in and I want to say a huge thank you for making the process so easy. Everything looks super great, works perfectly and my place was left so clean and tidy.”
“This place is so great it's hard to describe. Amazing location, with a fantastic view of Auckland in the distance. Very calm, very quiet, and to wake up with that view in the mornings is just amazing. I would recommend this to any couple wanting a romantic and relaxing getaway. Plus, Waikehe island is a fantastic place in general, a minor tropical paradise. Don't miss renting a car and driving around the island to visit the wineries.”
“What superb service from Excellence Billiards. I required new pockets for my slate table. They arrived within 3 days of ordering & i needed someone to remove old & install the new. Excellence Billiards recommended a gent named Kerry based here in Christchurch. He came & inspected & dismantled what he had to & returned the following day to complete. What outstanding service & workmanship(hard to get these days.)Highest recommendation.”
“I love taking my dog there. We go after 5pm. My son who lives up the walkway from beach takes his dog b4 10am. It's off leash as well. All dogs are well socialized that are off leash. Very safe.”
“The Lower Huia Dam is about a 40-minute drive from Auckland and makes a nice short trip into the Waitākere Ranges. From the carpark, it’s an easy walk to the reservoir area. The surroundings are peaceful, with farmland and hills nearby, and sometimes sheep grazing in the fields. The highlight is the bellmouth spillway — a rare circular overflow structure that looks like a giant vertical funnel. It’s quite impressive to see in person and not something you often come across in New Zealand. The dam top also gives good views of the lake and surrounding hills. It’s generally very quiet, and we hardly saw other visitors during our walk. On a rainy day, the atmosphere felt fresh and calm, and the whole place had a very tranquil vibe. Worth a stop if you’re exploring the west coast or the Waitākere Ranges.”
“Easy drive to get there with a park over property right across the road (if you have a self contained camper van etc).”
“Beautiful reserve that we came by accidentally. Two lovely waterfalls with a steep walk to/from and around 100 steps. Great picnic areas and a toilet”
“My husband and I went to Killarney Park after having a cup of coffee at French Rendezvous Cafe next door on 15/12/2023. The park was very quiet and we enjoyed the lovely and romantic walk there. We highly recommend you to visit the park if you happen to go to North Shore or you are one of the Northshorers.”
“Great place to chill with the kids on the weekend. It's close to Costco and Foodie so it's quite convenient for groceries shopping”
“Excellent skatepark, large kids skate area. Plus, has a water feature, sand volleyball net, basketball and a nice playground. Large grass area behind for families, kids, or dogs.”
“One of the top off-leash dog parks in central Auckland, this well maintained gem offers a peaceful escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. It’s an ideal spot for dogs and their owners to unwind and enjoy some quality time away from the crowds.”
