This is a really great park to take your dogs. It’s off leash, lots of pathways. The downside is it’s next to a playground and a lot of the dog owners here are quite rude and don’t want their dogs socialising with other dogs but why come to a public off leash dog park? Doesn’t make sense but of lot people are like that in Auckland. Weird.

Does Park has become a regular for me to take my dog spotty to there is always plenty of dogs here as it is an off-leash dog park surrounded by native bush and a circuit that a lot of people used to get fit the tracks themselves are never muddy and most of the dogs know each other as do the owners this park was gifted to Auckland buy Smith & caughey who owned the department store in Queen Street for over 100 years it was given to the people of Auckland so that it couldn't be used for housing and set aside as one of the greatest green spaces

Great family and pet friendly park. Lots of parking and toilets available. Cool exercise stations around the trails too. Alot of people use this area which is very cool. Big green area in a very built up housing area

What an amazing playground it's locked and fenced so kids are safe...good for Littles and the big kids...there's even water play...And to top it off a massive grassed area to take the dogs for a run to set up a picnic blanket there's picnic tables also...And a concrete walk that's pram and wheelchair friendly

Possibly the best dog exercise area and walk I have had out west in a while. We have been coming here for the past few weeks and it has been an absolute blast for our pooch. There even is a local coffee car serving fresh coffee before we journey out to the obstacle course to test the limits of our dog. While out and about we see tones of other avid dog walkers who all want to treat their pooch to a nice walk.

I drive past Craigavon Park several times a week, and finally decided to make a pit stop. On the Portage Road side there is a big, fully fenced playground, with wide open spaces, picnic benches, BBQ -, and toilet facilities. It's a great dog and kid friendly park. There are no steps, and it's pretty much even throughout. There are work out stations and equipment throughout the park. There is a carpark, as well as roadside parking. As you head towards Kinross Ave, it becomes denser. You can choose to stick to the wide road with some awesome native plants on the side, or you can opt for smaller tracks. This leads you to the middle of the jungle (it's the only word I can think of!). There is a pond and a stream that runs from end to end. It is quite dark and dense in places, and the humidity just envelopes you. The walkways are well maintained, or the more adventurous people can go totally bush and create their own tracks

The new playground is great. Not so synthetic anymore, wooden and water beats plastic and steel hands down. If you are too old for a playground then the walking circuit is great also. Nice to walk through the grounds and see all the lovely huge pines. There’s also a great exercise area for dogs.
