It feels like a little oasis on busy Dominion Road, perfect for catching up with friends or just enjoying a quiet moment with a coffee. Speaking of coffee, I ordered a flat white, which cost $6. While some might find that a bit on the higher side, I felt it was worth every cent. The quality was top-notch—smooth, rich, and perfectly brewed. You can tell the baristas know their craft. The presentation of the food is equally impressive, almost like a work of art on a plate. Every dish looks as good as it tastes, with attention to detail that really sets this café apart. “If you haven't been to this cafe, then you're missing something very good in Beachhaven. I think it has new ownership and they deserve to survive. The coffee is great. It's Altura my husband's favourite. Lots of people were coming and going, which is good to see. The food could have been at any five-star establishment.”

“Top notch customer service with very friendly team. We were served by Sophia who answered our queries about the menu and also was kind enough to take our photo. Its always a delight to come to Elephant Wrestler especially for big groups. They have plenty of space and kid-friendly atmosphere during lunch time. There’s a variety of food to choose from, always tasty, fresh and never dry. We enjoyed the pork belly and sirloin steak. Tiramisu is a must-have for dessert! We will definitely come back again.”

“Stopped in for breakfast this morning. Hubby had the big brekkie and I had the omelet with tomato, mushroom and ham. Both meals came with a 5 grain toast and we had a large mocha each. 100% the most delicious breakfast we have had in a café for a while. The food was so tasty and the coffee was great. We want to know where to get that 5 grain bread.... that was really good. Thanks team, we will see you again.”

“Consistently great pizza from Sals Birkenhead. The manager Raj is always friendly and nice to talk to, and he makes a pretty great pizza. Sals menu is simpler than other pizza places, but higher quality and tastier - plus a large pizza is actually large from Sals. Definitely recommend Sals for a slice of New York style pizza, especially if you can get a deal or bundle.”

“Golden Silk Thai is a special place where very good food can be found. I am not unfamiliar with Golden Silk as the family have been getting take aways there for years. They provide a very authentic menu and is well worth spending time in the restaurant too as some of the best dishes are only served in the restaurant. Highly recommended”

“I went to Caffe E Cucina for a tinder date (which went pretty well, I think she likes me!) for lunch, and had a great time. We ordered different kinda small plates from the prima section of the menu and shared those which worked well as we weren't super hungry. The service was good, and prices not toooo bad. The food was definitely the highlight (after the company) with everything cooked to perfection. Seared tuna blew my mind.”

“Impressive variety of quality vegetables and succulent chicken. The sauces were beautiful and the spice ranges were finally hot enough! Thai “medium” is what many western people will call too hot… but it’s not! If you don’t like spice order mild - for me, I ordered the hottest curry I could and it was incredible!! The sharp chilli spice cutting through the creamy coconut sauce with rich umami undertones… heaven. The Pad Thai lacked that sexy wok hei smokiness, and I prefer a wider flatter noodle, otherwise fantastic.”

We ordered the buffalo wings (next time we'll go for the hot ones—these were mild but still tasty), shoestring fries, the pulled pork burger, and the beef brisket burger. Everything was fresh and satisfying, especially the burgers which were full of flavour. Special shoutout to Nelli for her fantastic service—she was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome. We sat outside, which was perfect for a chill afternoon, watching the world go by. Definitely a spot we’d come back to for a relaxed meal and good vibes.”
