If you haven't been to this cafe, then you're missing something very good in Beachhaven. I think it has new ownership and they deserve to survive. The coffee is great. It's Altura my husband's favourite. Lots of people were coming and going, which is good to see. The food could have been at any five-star establishment.
Food was absolutely delicious, particularly the Turkish eggs. The sourdough was some of the best we’ve ever enjoyed in Auckland. Unfortunately, the cafe was late opening (8.10 rather than the advertised 8am), the chef didn’t arrive until after 8.20am and our meals were served 30-40mins after that. The orange juice was overly sweet - tasting like it was mixed with cordial, and the coffee was burnt. Service was friendly, but unfortunately the lack of organisation and finishing touches lets the experience of dining here down.
Wow! Amazing food and absolutely awesome space. Even if you're not from the area it's worth the drive, such friendly staff too!!
The Haven was a great place to have breakfast. My parents and I were warmly welcomed and the food was delicious and were great serving sizes!! My parents really enjoyed their meals and coffee. I had the egg bene and it was delicious. The cup of tea was brewed just right and as a bonus it was leaf tea. Parking was no problem at all!!
What more could you ask for in a local? Friendly staff, great service and lovely pub food. Outdoor tables for a sunny day, it is a local treasure!
Eggs with bacon bene was really tasty, large portion. Others had pancakes which were delicious, scrambled eggs very tasty. Staff super friendly and courteous. Would definitely recommend.
Such a lovely spot - it was our literal haven between airbnbs! The staff are super friendly and it's a really nice spot to spend some time. We had food both times we were there and it was all really tasty and decent value for money (although it did feel a bit naughty with the fried bread, deep-fried hash browns and oily eggs!). Would definitely recommend
