A special thank you for your generosity in allowing us to stay longer than planned, giving everyone the time to unwind, relax, and enjoy each other’s company in such a welcoming atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, and the team ensured everything ran smoothly during the busy event days. “First time here and came after seeing the reviews. It absolutely didn't disappoint. Went for the seafood tartare to start which was really beautifully flavoured with hints of corriander and so fresh. Then went for one of the Wagyu scotch options. Had it medium rare upon recommendation from our lovely waitress. It was possibly one of the most beautifully flavoured tender pieces of steak ever. Both of us went for the same steak. If I come again I'll probably go for a few more side orders, went for the creamed spinach which was lovely. Will definitely return! Highly recommend and I am very fussy!”

“This place ia great. Friendly staff, lovely food and just great. Parking is what some might say is an issue but, it has plenty of options to park close enough to walk 100meters and your there, no biggie. Thank you to the fabulous team that works there, your all just great.”

“The Shelf is such a charming coffee shop! The decor is super cute, with unique and quirky items displayed on every shelf, giving it a cozy and fun vibe. They offer light snacks and some creative coffee options—like the sesame coffee, which I regret not trying. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, definitely a bit different from other coffee shops. It’s a lovely spot to hang out or even do some work on your laptop. As for the coffee itself, it’s good, but nothing extraordinary. Overall, it’s a great place to relax and enjoy the unique ambiance!”

“Food was excellent!! Staff were very attentive and friendly. Great to finally go to a Cafe with a decent size table, so many cafes have tables that can barely hold your coffee cup. Will be back to try the omelet next time.”

“I went to a team lunch, and it turned out to be pretty nice. I had a delicious cheeseburger and it seems like a fun spot to catch a game—you can really feel the energy there. The staff were super friendly, and the place was clean. Getting a table was easy, though it can get a bit busy in the evenings.”

“Walked into a hidden Gem in Kingsland. I’d never heard of this place but is a quaint Bar & Eatery that I have raved about. Started lunch with a few glasses with the view of the back of Eden Park. Steak meal was juicy and full of flavour then our sharing plates Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon as well as Spicy Chicken went down a treat. Seemed as if I inhaled the food. Owner/Manager is a cute and outgoing. Didn’t come across as a robot but actually gave us his time. Also knew what he was talking about re menu as the food was devoured in peace (Thats when you know its good and also tasty)”

“Dropped by on a Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised by their steak special with eat value and cooked just right. The mussels were fresh and nice, definitely a highlight. It is a lively spot, but I managed to get a table straight away with no wait, which was a bonus. Staff were friendly and attentive.”

“So loud in here at night probably because of all of the voices bouncing off the hard walls haha, but friiendly, fun staff and cool underground feeling decor. Reminds of NYC for some reason; like a pub next to an old metro station. Burger was pretty excellent from what I remember. I'll come back at some point.”

“The server was very nice, and the overall atmosphere and decor of the place was more business-y than just relaxing. I felt like the music was on the louder side as well. The eggs benedict was delicious (the hash brown was SO crunchy, and I could cut it with my knife as well), and the matcha latte was alright, though it was more on the sweeter side than I would've liked. The food was on the pricier side (which was to be expected in CBD). I'd recommend going with colleagues or friends/dates that prefer more middle to high-end looking cafes. There were lots of space, but most tables were suited for 2 people.”

“I first came across this kebab shop when I was staying close by in the area and ordered a chicken kebab on rice. It was so great that I have had it several times since and every time it is consistent. The meat is favoured really well, the sauces are good hot chilli sauce it hot but doesn’t build in heat). The salads are prepared with care and are thinly shredded. The hummus is smooth and creamy. The people are very friendly. Thank you for another amazing experience! :)”

All staff I dealt with were incredibly helpful and accommodating as we had a few unknowns leading up to the day, and everything went smoothly at their end. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Wonderful way for us to end the year. Definitely recommend if you're looking to have a function.”

“Super friendly and attentive staff, they made us feel very welcome from the second we walked in. Really nice ambience and lots of space to move around and places to sit down. We visited on the steak special night, was great value for $29 including choice of 2 side dishes . Will definitely be back .”

“Dinned in a few times over my stay this week and everything was great! Perfect steak, crispiest potato’s, a fun spin on the classic devilled eggs, pork chop (excuse my mess) and even the room service Club sandwich was enormous! Washed down with a great wine list and good pick me up coffee in the morning.”

“Ordered a Baked Strawberry Cheesecake recently for a birthday party from Kneads and it was amazing! Communication with the ordering was quick and efficient, the cake was beautifully done as requested and everyone loved it. The fresh strawberries on top were definitely a bonus. They had a list of different options for cakes that can be made according to preference. Would definitely be ordering my Christmas cakes and birthday cakes from them again. Thanks! ☺️”

“Reservation made for a birthday lunch on a Saturday around 30 people. Staff very helpful especially Jordan who could not do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. Used their screen for photos (which my family had organised with the staff behind my back).Food excellent, everyone enjoyed the day. Would recommend the Village Bar and Grill for a birthday or family gathering”
