He gave me a decent price for a new tyre and pump, and he put it on in no time, then he helped secure a loose brake cable. “Full house for a Tue dinner service (before a sellout show at MFC). Be sure to book! Burrata, flatbread, snapper crudo, gnocchi, wagyu flank, half lamb shoulder (classic they'll hopefully never stop serving), sides of cauli & fries - between 4. All dishes were perfectly on point flavour-wise and generous enough to share. Everyone left satisfied and still recalling the yum hours later. Service was attentive and friendly but unprentious. Unique and broad selection of wines (cocktails a bit slow, but it was busy). Overall a very memorable meal and will for sure continue to recommend to others for special occassions, and return.”

I went into Atticus thinking it would be out of my price range but the shoes I liked were on sale and the shop assistant was really attentive helping me find the right size. “We attended the Meile Kitchen Experience over the weekend and found it superb. Mark was excellent in inspiring us with how to use the appliances, particularly the different ovens, and also in describing the features of the appliances. He demonstrated how the technology in these appliances make things so simple from cooking quality, speed and cleaning. The dishes he created during the session was absolutely delicious.”

“This is a fantastic spot for brunch and coffee. It’s a busy cafe so it might pay to book ahead, however we turned up and had to wait 15 minutes for a table for 2. Once we were seated the service was fantastic. I was eager to try the espresso tasting flight and loved it, a staff member explained the origins of the coffee which was great. The food was fantastic, it came out quick and the quality was exceptional! We are definitely going to come back again.”

I'm adding to this review because I was touched again by their super professionalism and friendliness. I went to their place late Friday afternoon urgently because of the alternator issue and told them that I would need to drive to Auckland Saturday. They figured out the issue instantly and tried very hard to source the parts for my car. I was so glad that the car was nicely fixed and I was able to drive to Auckland safely and happily Saturday morning. Thanks again, guys! “***I highly recommend Paul and the team at Challenge Pauatahanui*** - excellent customer service - community focused values and support - good prices, especially with the card - they stock Maycey’s packet lollies (smokers, jelly beans etc) For a good couple of years we lived in this area and they became our local gas station. Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming especially Paul and his daughter's. They have a real sense of community about them and always took the time to banter and have a laugh. My heavily tattooed partner can often be misjudged because of his looks but not here - they got to know him well and he’s always appreciated that! They are huge pillar in the community and I have so much admiration for their support with community fundraisers and promoting local businesses. There are very few people and businesses like this anymore which is so sad when once upon a time it was the norm. So we must show our support and appreciation by choosing their services wherever we can. Thank you Paul and team so much for all you do and your amazing service! We'll definitely be back whenever we’re up those ways :D”

On a sunny day, the best place to enjoy it is the outdoor terrace upstairs - quieter, more spacious, and refreshingly open, perfect for a leisurely breakfast and long conversations. The service is warm, welcoming, almost joyous, with staff who appear genuinely enthusiastic, accommodating, and efficient. Though the space is compact, the atmosphere is full of heart.
