“A place I'd walked past and never been in so, let's do it. Was bigger on the inside than I thought. Has a downstairs with pool tables, who knew. If you're a pokie machine person they have them. A few nice beers, an outside area. All good.”
“A great place to chill and enjoy the crowds (or army of suits). Very easy to get to, via bus or rail. Food was great beer was too only downside no Stella. Will come again soon :)”
“Cavern Club Bar is a must-visit! Perfect place to enjoy live music, meet friendly people, and have a great night out in the city”
“I had a great evening at Vinyl! Especially because of the service we experienced from Flo. They were friendly, had great energy and helped up find the perfect drinks for our party off the menu! Will definitely be coming back again”
“Every two weeks I'm at The Arborist for my BX Networking meeting and am about to have my son's 21st birthday celebration there. Everyone is lovely to deal with and the atmosphere is wonderful! The food and drinks are yummy. You can't go wrong at The Arborist!”
“Superbly modern pub in a great location! The Hudson looks warm and appealing for the Wellington exterior and getting inside does not disappoint! This free house and stillhouse offers great New Zealand craft beer and an excellent range of international gins. This is all topped off with a secluded, upstairs whisky bar and excellent delicatessen. The Hudson is a revamped and modern take on a British gastro-pub. The craft beer list is kept so up to date they don’t bother with menus, instead projecting the current tap selection on the wall. For May’s Hopstock festival, the Hudson is hosting Liberty Brewing’s best beers and absolutely spoiling Wellingtonians. The gin bar has a spectacular range including Malfy’s delicious orange and grapefruit variants. Locals Denizen Gin also have high billing. If you’re unsure spin the $12 gin wheel and you’ll likely be treated to something new and interesting like The Botanist, Beefeater’s Pink Gin or a choice from the Handman range. Bar snacks are also delicious with curved meats carved and sliced in front of you. This is all topped off with a great wine list and superbly welcoming staff. The Hudson has a great atmosphere and is filled up when most pubs would be quiet. It’s a great option for Saturday afternoon drinks and cozy chats. Go here for a warm welcome and enjoy sampling your way through an excellent range of good drink!”
“Amazing service, the food was incredible and $2 coffee whaaaat 2 means and 2 coffees $50 we'll definitely be back.”
“I really like burger and salad here. excellent service!”
“Great food—the chicken burger is fantastic and the portions are large. Convenient parking and lovely service from our server, Sharron. Will definitely return!”
“Hardware bar is the jewel in the crown for Stokes Valley dining. Its very warm, inviting, with staff that go above and beyond on service. Plus you can bring your fur baby here too!. The food is delicious with generous portion size. The Ribs are the best in Wellington. Will return again, and bring many more vistors”
“Fantastic fish, with good size fillets for the fish n chips. The Chinese menu is extensive and are also fantastically cooked. Staff certainly know their stuff. Wait time is reasonable at around 10 minutes for most orders on a busy night in Waterloo. Fresh fish can also be bought here and also when in season Bluff Oysters. The entire place is spotless from top to bottom.”
“One of my favorite places! Bagels here are very tasty, crunchy and fresh. I also love shakshouka and smoothies!”
“Had the big brekkie and it was mean as. Everything was cooked spot on and the portion was solid. Good flavours, good vibes, and decent value for money. Sweet spot for a weekend feed, I’ll be back for sure.”
“This place is fun and the staff were great, but be warned the male female toilets aren't labelled well and it's easy to walk into the wrong one (especially when drunk)”
“Big shout out to E, excellent service, he really raises the atmosphere! He needs a raise!”
“Great place to enjoy a beer on the bar seats. Good customer service asked for a 'good hazy', and that's what I got. He even cleaned up my sushi rubbish for me, which is pretty damn good. Beer was $13”
“QT Wellington is a fantastic stay. The service is warm and genuinely friendly, especially the team at the restaurant, which makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The location couldn’t be better — just across from Te Papa museum and right in the heart of Wellington’s vibrant waterfront. I also loved the artsy atmosphere throughout the hotel, from the lobby, the bar to the rooms, which gives the place so much character. A great choice if you want both comfort and a creative vibe.”
“We stumbled upon a cool little bar slightly off Courtenay Place in Wellington and ended up having such a fun night. We were drawn in because we heard some really good filler songs playing—these were the tracks they had on between the karaoke performances. We went in around 9 o’clock when karaoke was already going, and within an hour or two the place really came to life. It was such an amazing vibe with great music, a fun crowd, and plenty of energy. Definitely a memorable night out that happened by chance and turned into something awesome.”
“Lanes was a great spot for a quick bowling session and some drinks! We had some free time before heading to the airport, so we stopped by for a game of bowling—some of us grabbed drinks too. It was a great time! The place has a cool vibe, with retro games adding to the fun. The bowling lanes also have a unique touch with blue lighting, which gives it a different feel compared to most bowling alleys. The staff were awesome as well. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you have some time to kill and enjoy some retro games!”
“Love Naomis coffees! Her Latte and Hot chocolate so delicious! Best hot chocolate ever! The milk texture & creamer on point! Had 3 hot chocolate today! Her coffees and smile just made my day! Pls let her know she’s doing an amazing job!”
“Devilskin We Rise 2024 Concert. A mother and daughter outlet.”
“Coffee is A++ and I’m a coffee snob, was nice to finish a good coffee. I had chicken wings, while they’re were a tad oily they were still tasty and a decent serving! Had a chips on the side and that was also a decent serving and were very tasty, bonus points for not having dry wings. Partner had the chicken burger which he really enjoyed. Overall a really nice experience, the lady who served us was super polite and had fab hospo skills - very welcoming. Fire was also on so we were toasty warm. We will back back in the summer ☀️”
“The owner is amazing. Always makes the customers feel so welcome. Best pub in Tawa.”
“Great place, we stopped on our way through Wellington to play a game of pool and have a jug. Great prices and friendly staff highly recommend!”

“Excellent food and service - a place I would return to on next trip to NZ”
“We had our wedding reception here and it was AMAZING! The functions manager, Chyanne has been amazing during the early planning, to figuring out the last minute details. They been very accommodating for guests who had dietary/allergies, and the staff that night were fantastic for making sure our reception was amazing! Would recommend and will come again for outings ”
“My recent visit to the QT Hotel and Restaurant in Wellington was an absolute delight. The hotel's fantastic location made exploring the city a breeze. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the beautiful atmosphere and the genuinely friendly, professional staff—especially Ray and Anthony, who were absolutely amazing. The food was just as impressive. The weekend high tea was an exceptional experience, with every tea and accompanying food item delicious and the service impeccable. Breakfast was a definite highlight. While the buffet was decent, the à la carte menu was sleek and memorable—I'm still dreaming about the egg benedict and the delicious mushroom dish. Dinner was just as stunning, thanks to a fantastic salmon dish and the breathtaking night waterfront view. As a seafood lover who usually avoids raw oysters, I was amazed by the one I stole from my friend—it was incredibly fresh, and the vinaigrette was a perfect touch. And the experience didn't stop there. The room was spacious and tidy, and I absolutely loved the bathtub. I was also pleasantly surprised by the value. Despite ordering a lot to try everything, I didn't find the prices horribly expensive. If you get the chance to visit Wellington, I highly recommend a stay at the QT to enjoy the amazing food, service, scenery, and the comfortable rooms.”
“Got hosted by Mark tonight. Wonderful chap, checked on top ups for drinks and food. made sure we were comfortable. Our original server didn't seem like she could be bothered after the order to meal check, but mark ensured we had a good time”
