“What a cool little bar. Locate the sign on the street and walk up the stairs. The entrance has no real sign, there is just a closed door and when opened reveals a funky bar. Cool atmosphere, would be great in winter on a cosy winter night but we enjoyed it on a hot summers night. Just stopped for one drink but wish we could have stayed longer.”
“Had a brilliant night, felt like being back in Wrexham. Lovely, friendly staff, great quiz on a Sunday night and very reasonable priced drinks including bottles of Wrexham lager! The roasts looked amazing and you can pre-order a vegan roast too. Well behaved dogs are allowed as well which is great! Iechyd da, diolch yn fawr.”
“Wow the staff here are absolutely amazing! We came for the MLB game and had big screens with NFL as well. The wings were soooo great, the garlic bread was quite dry BUT had a chat with the chef who offered us replacements that were super great (chips and GF garlic bread). Made our entire experience so great. The bartender Gabe also was so amazing and made us feel very welcomed and at home.”
“Since John took over, this pub has gone from strength to strength. He's added so many features (doggy biscuits and beers, kids play area, lots of board games, weekly food trucks, weekly quizzes) that have made it not only a family friendly, local pub, but also a destination. Offering some amazing beers, wonderful staff will take you into their care and ensure you can kick back and relax. Dog friendly, kid friendly, social team friendly, it really does offer do much! Thanks for everything team, we love you!”
“Properly poured stout, care was taken to let it settle and not be all head. Live music here was also fantastic. Great area right by the beach.”
“Excellent vegetarian burger options, the Albert was super delicious! Great giant curly fries. Quick friendly service.”
“Awesome pool hall vibe here. Went there when it was quiet, but there are so many tables here that it must be awesome when it is full.”
“You might need to sit outside or at an open area at night. When cold, take a warm jacket in case you need to sit in these areas. Food is delicious. Had WoP”
“Nice local pub. Drinks were good, staff were friendly, and the food was fast, hot, and tasty.”
“Me and my family come by every so often. The food is always good and the staff are lovely. They've got a good range of drinks and desserts as well, although for the most part we stick to the dinner menu. Highly Recommend”
“Good meals. Crispy chicken stack and fish and chips are great. Burgers are large and delicious. Crispy chips. I eat here far too often, very good.”
“Great place to enjoy a beer on the bar seats. Good customer service asked for a 'good hazy', and that's what I got. He even cleaned up my sushi rubbish for me, which is pretty damn good. Beer was $13”
“Absolutely flawless, perfect 5 stars! Despite arriving quite late, around 8 pm, I was greeted warmly by the staff, all with genuine smiles. The restaurant's atmosphere was cozy and spotlessly clean, with plenty of seating available. The menu was impressively extensive, and the staff graciously guided me through the options with clear explanations. Opting for (Hainanese) chicken rice, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived promptly in just 5 minutes. The presentation was stunning, and the taste surpassed all expectations. The chicken was juicy and bursting with flavour, complemented perfectly by the fresh and crispy fried onions, freshest sliced cucumber and the subtly tangy soy-based sauce. The homemade chili sauce was also very authentic and a delightful touch. The accompanying chicken soup was also delicious and showcased the freshness and quality of the ingredients. At $22, the meal was not only delicious but also amazingly good value. Both the attentive waitstaff and the friendly chef made me feel incredibly welcome, leaving me eager to return. With so many enticing dishes left to try, I'm already looking forward to my next visit.”
“Awesome spot!! Cheap drinks, 5 dollars for a variety of drinks, shots, wine, bourbon, etc and dancing! The food is really good too. I ate the prawn pasta and they were not stingy with those prawns, so I was super excited to experience that deliciousness as I am a seafood lover!”
“Nice place to hang out and have a drink. Bartender is really cool.”
“Had the big brekkie and it was mean as. Everything was cooked spot on and the portion was solid. Good flavours, good vibes, and decent value for money. Sweet spot for a weekend feed, I’ll be back for sure.”
“Been here many times. Excellent pizza, and their hot chocolates are a spiritual experience - best in Wellington. Absolute must for anyone whether you're a local or from elsewhere!”
“Love their food! Hidden gem in Linden.”
“Absolutely loved this restaurant! There was a 12$ special from 4 to 6PM the night we went. The service was exceptional and there was such a nice atmosphere. The pasta plate did not deceive and I would strongly recommend this restaurant.”
“I had an absolutely wonderful time dining here. From the moment I walked in, everything was just perfect. The ambience was warm and inviting, the cleanliness of the space was impressive, and the attention to detail in both service and presentation truly stood out. The food was top-notch – full of flavour, fresh, and beautifully prepared. I genuinely enjoyed every dish I tried. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and went the extra mile to make sure we felt comfortable and cared for throughout the meal. It’s clear the team takes great pride in what they do, and it shows in every aspect of the experience. I will definitely be coming back and will happily recommend this place to friends and family. A big thank you to the team for the extra care – it made all the difference!”
“My partner and I usually go out once a month for dinner to restaurants around Wellington and we were delighted with this place! I have a gluten intolerance and the staff member that served us was super accommodating! I absolutely loved the cocktails, I had a tropical one with an ice block and a toasted marshmallow screwer. My partner had a yellow curry and I had the Bangkok Street Noodles and they even gave me some peanut sauce as I could have soy sauce and it went perfectly well with it! I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be back! Thanks for a great night and experience!”
“Family dinner for our babies’ Papa’s 72nd birthday ❤️ Live one man band was awesome tonight.”
“Great spot, hidden in plain sight. Seated and served promptly and meals very delicious. Have a great little gourmet burger selection too.”
“OMG the "Pasion Ardiente (Burning Passion)" cocktail is the absolute BEST! Can ask for it to be less spicy if you want. Have never had such a delicious cocktail before, apart from my usual Pina Coladas. 1st time here, can't wait to come back. Great staff, atmosphere, and food looked amazing. We just came for drinks this time.”
“Eating on my own as travelling for work, so looking for tasty food and reasonable pricing, and an atmosphere where it doesn’t feel awkward being a sole diner. I had been here some time ago, enjoyed it very much and this time was certainly well satisfied on all counts. Only had a main, pork belly, plus side of veges. Serving size was really generous - I liked the sound of the mussels entree but would never have fitted that in as well! Very tasty - I enjoy sampling pork belly on my travels and this was excellent.”
“We hosted our book club in the upstairs room on a Monday night and Colin was super helpful, so accommodating and it was a good central spot for those working in town, while still feeling like we could escape for a couple of hours! We worked our way through a few of the non-alcoholic beer and gin offerings too; appreciated having options for those driving.”
“A great place to chill and enjoy the crowds (or army of suits). Very easy to get to, via bus or rail. Food was great beer was too only downside no Stella. Will come again soon :)”
“The atmosphere at this cafe was great for brunch and the food was delicious. The black pudding extremely delicious! The staff were externally friendly. I disagree with previous comments about small portion sizes, all the portions were generous Just a note that I think things are unsalted intentionally but this wasn't a big issue at all, plenty of salt on the table”
“Every two weeks I'm at The Arborist for my BX Networking meeting and am about to have my son's 21st birthday celebration there. Everyone is lovely to deal with and the atmosphere is wonderful! The food and drinks are yummy. You can't go wrong at The Arborist!”
