A long story here ⦠when I was a student doing a marketing degree back in the late 1980s⦠our group was involved in designing a dock side restaurant - with a nautical theme. Coincidence or not a number of our design elements ended up in the final product that was and still is Dockside! You could say this was my first of a life long foray into restaurants and restaurant design. Fast forward to- over the years have dined or had a few summer Vino at the restaurant. Most recently was a lunch and the service, food and the vino was outstanding. The waiter was 5 star poise, humour and etiquette rolled into one. Food was fresh and well thought out. Wine list nicely balanced. Price, suprisingly, quite affordable. Lunch being nzd550 for 7 people including a bottle of Sante Margarita prosecco.

Food was yum, but not quite worth the high price point. Mains were delayed a little as the venue packed out and service wasnβt very attentive to smaller tables. Pork Belly had a little too much fat for my preference. View was lovely and have had a better experience previously.

While staying in Wellington, we ate at the Dockside twice. Once a lightish meal before a show. The Berry Bramble cocktail was very nice. The good excellent. The next night with friends we met at the show unexpectedly. Another dinner which was wonderful. We all chose different courses and it was all delicious. Berry Bramble cocktail featured again. The service was wonderful and the staff made sure my diabetic husband recieved his meal at the appointed time. Thank you for looking after us.

We had our wedding reception here and it was AMAZING! The functions manager, Chyanne has been amazing during the early planning, to figuring out the last minute details. They been very accommodating for guests who had dietary/allergies, and the staff that night were fantastic for making sure our reception was amazing! Would recommend and will come again for outings

We went for 7 courses degustation dinner with wine. It was a great choice. Our food guide Joe explained what the chef wanted to achieve, the origin of food and wine, and the best way to enjoy it. The only regret is to have too much to eat:)

We had a lovely lunch here. Staff were very good. Great seat by the window looking at the sea. Food was delicious and beautifully presented . Mushroom pate was yummo. Pork belly was cooked perfectly with tasty accompaniments . A great plant based menu. Hubby enjoyed the salmon . Pancakes went down well.

One of my favorite restaurants in Wellington. They have wonderful selection of seafood platters and my favorites are their chowder, grilled fish or fish of the day, and salmon. The salmon is very creamy yet you can taste itβs crispy skin. They also have steak and duck menu. The appetizers are also lovely, particularly the calamari, tuna sashimi, and fresh oyster as well as fried oyster with tempura. Desserts are tempting as well. The last time we came here, we were seated on the upper floor. Love the view from here and the place has an overall elegant ambience and the service is good. Those with reduced mobility might have issue going up to the upper through the stairs but if you can get the spot on ground floor then it wonβt be problematic. Parking can be a bit tricky but there is a park building near the area. Happy to be back.
