“We recently returned from an incredible trip to Europe, all expertly planned by Shelley at House of Travel. Every detail — from flights and accommodation to sightseeing and transfers — was meticulously organised, ensuring our holiday went smoothly and stress-free. Shelley’s experience, professionalism, and attention to detail were evident throughout the entire process. We felt completely confident knowing everything was taken care of, and we couldn’t have asked for a better travel planner. Highly recommend Shelley for anyone wanting a seamless and memorable travel experience!”
“We stopped at the beach for a quick packed lunch and only had time to dip our feet in the water. We really liked it — definitely a place where we’d love to spend a proper beach weekend next time we’re in the area.”
“Great walk with different ways to the summit. View is gorgeous. 30~ mins to the top with the quickest (steepest path). I started at 7:30am on a Tuesday.”
Osteria Mount Maunganui is an Italian dining room focused on seasonal produce, handmade pasta and wood‑fired pizza. Menus include antipasti (bruschetta, arancini), pizzas (margherita, chorizo, truffle), pasta and risotto, along with ‘farm’ and ‘ocean’ mains and classic desserts like tiramisu.
“Mount Backpackers has exceptional staff, great rooms, and a nice environment. The thing that matters in hostels are the people, and when me and my friends arrived, we made several connections and met wonderful people. I want to thank everybody for the time in MT BP, and their amazing staff - especially Miles and Brad (G). If you want to make long lasting connections and friends, go there.”
“Thank you so much Mike. Phoenix and his friends thoroughly enjoyed his birthday treat. Would absolutely recommend the 1 hour tour. A real adrenaline treat for 13 year olds and mum too”
“I have been to 5 different therapists at Sanctum, and each one has been faultless. Their attention to detail, calm and welcoming spaces, and expertise mean that every treatment you get is fantastic. Highly recommend for all your beauty service needs.”
“Went out on a charter for my birthday with a few friends and we had a fantastic experience. We caught as much fish as we could take home in just an hour! Alita and Tom surprised us with a cute lil cake and the big lunch they provided was delicious, especially the freshly caught fish that was fried up! After catching as much fish as we wanted, we anchored close to shore off an island, snorkelled, and harvested a few sea urchins to try(with some prompting and direction from Tom). We were also lucky enough to momentarily see dolphins alongside the boat! Overall a fantastic day out on the water with a very friendly crew who were knowledgeable and easy going. Thankyou Tom and Alita!”
“Our 16yr old boy did his first sky dive last week in Tauranga. We felt that it was safe enough for him. The guys were all great and made him feel comfortable. Highly recommend!”
“If you're looking for kiwiana this is the place to go. Great service, free wrapping of your purchase and reasonable pricing. Something for everyone.”
“We had the most amazing experience on this seafari, apparently we got super lucky because we ended up spitting 4 different dolphin pods. Didn’t get to swim with the dolphins since all the pods had juveniles, but still it was amazing to just enjoy them from the boat and learn all about them from the crew.”
“Parking is free, it’s a good place to take in the view of the bay and Mt Maunganui. Good spot to start a short stroll up the beach and back.”
“Nice open spaces, with nice covered ( mature trees ) spaces with a water feature too. Toilets are close and so are shops, bars, cafès,restaurants and bakeries.”
“The drift trikes are great fun and the staff were very accommodating about turning the music down a bit for our son. Our group was not the speediest on the track but it's fun to drift and you can get a good slide going at a very safe speed. It was just the 4 of us on the track which was nice. Our youngest rider was a teenager, oldest was Grandma who is in her 70s. I have seen other groups be a bit more adventurous - sometimes in a good way, once in a slightly worrying way when we were on the track with them and they tried to go full speed all the time. They say in the instruction video that drifting is about style, not speed and I agree. Spinning out once or twice is fine, crashing more than once into the barriers is careless!”
“We were on a school trip, and the kids loved it. Warm enough to not get cold, but not too warm either. Lots of fun activities for kids, and saunas and spa pools are wonderful, a little bit expensive but well worth it. 5 stars from me”
“Great exhibitions, great collection of aircraft. They do a good job restoring old planes and educate people about them. Volunteers are passionate and very informative. Overall an awesome experience!”
“Services are great! I use the school runs that Uzabus provide most days (After school obviously) and the drivers are very nice people, and the vibe is generally pretty chill, for the most part. I've also gotta tip my hat to the people who maintain the buses, because I've seen multiple buses in Uzabus' fleet that are very old, have over 1M km's on the odometer (I know of one with about 2.5M km on the odometer), or are one of a kind in the country. Good people, and probably very good mechanics.”
“Great community center as it's finest. Free bathroom, hot shower, kitchen and library. Good for the community, perfect for freedom campers. Respect the locals!”
“It was a bit above my regular budge, but well paid for a nice, very clean and comfortable studio apartment. We had great view and all the conveniences we needed around us. I'll definitely consider to come back! Staff was very friendly too.”
“Travelled with Phil and did the Everest Trek. Both my son and I loved it and made amazing memories. The trip was well organized and well planned. We did not have to do any planning other then getting ourselves into and out of Nepal. Everything else was sorted from the hotels, taxis and helicopters. Thanks for the amazing memories…..”
“We used Shore Trips and Tours to book 3 tours - 1 in Dunedin, 1 in Akaroa, and 1 in Tauranga (with an actual ST&T employee). We had no issues with an of our tours, instructions and contact info was clear and we had good communication with them in the months leading up to these tours. The tour that was actually through them was for Rotorua and Hobbiton in Tauranga and was great! Our guide (Mark?) Gave us some info as we went from place to place, made sure we stayed fed and on time, and got us back to our ship with time to spare! Will use to book tours again if we are in NZ again!”

“Jason and Kate run an excellent business here. Hospitality is top notch. Our unit was perfect for our needs with everything so clean and tidy. The thermal pool was perfect for unwinding in after a stressful day. I highly recommend Bennett's to anyone looking for a quiet stay in a great location.”
“A place to get all errands best for travellers and locals. Fair prices and warm service”
“In the 25 years I've lived in New Zealand, I've never experienced hotel service like yesterday. When I requested a room change because the room was a little uncomfortable, the hotel manager was happy to accommodate me. They replaced our room and also split the single bad and adjusted it to the twin bed. All the staff were friendly, the staff serving breakfast in the restaurant were very friendly, and the food was delicious. Also, when I slept at the hotel last night, it was so comfortable and quiet. Thank you to all the hotel staff.”
“Was very fortunate enough to have experienced the White Island flight and tour. It is the best tourist activity I've done in New Zealand and I'd recommend it to all New Zealanders and international visitors.”
“Nice little store to stop to buy a drink after walking around the mount. Awesome owners, made my daughter's day, she wanted candy I said no so he gave free toy.”
