   I booked a Hobbiton tour with Toby for a cruise group of 12. He picked us up at the port at 8:30 am and had procured tickets for 12:30 pm. Since the drive was about an hour he took time to stop at a beautiful beach, for a walk to McLaren Falls, a look at a kiwifruit farm and to take a group picture at a scenic overlook. Toby was pleasant and informative. And we loved our tour at Hobbiton.

   Had Toby for our tour today. Absolute legend. Super accommodating, heaps of local knowledge and just an awesome day. Managed to get our group in to see hobbiton which I've wanted to do since it was opened and its notoriously difficult to do now days (our cruise even cancelled our original tour!) Can't reccomend enough!

   Tobey, who recently purchased the business, is a gem! We had a private tour with him and he took "personalized tour" to the extreme! He knows so much, especially about New Zealand history and the Maori history of the region, and we joked all day that he was a "Forgotten Prince" of the area, since saying his name seemed to get you in the door anywhere!! Just make sure you have a song ready to sing to him at the end of your day on the drive back; it's becoming a bit of a tradition! ;)

   We had an amazing day together with Mark from Arrow Tours' team - providing us with firsthand information about Maori culture, New Zealand's history, wildlife, daily living and much much more. The trip took us to Te Puía, which is outstanding, a Kiwi plantation with shop and a great place with a hidden waterfall. We got also a sightseeing of Tauranga and Rotorua with explanations to all buildings. We came back on time to enter cruise ship again - what a perfect day!
