“I love coming here for something to eat, great food, great service.. just an all round great place to eat”
“First visit to Station 83 and was really impressed with the outstanding food and friendly, attentive staff (Jeniah and Demi). We ordered chicken salad, beef salad, chicken cutlets and pizzas and everything was perfectly cooked and delicious.”
“These guys make great Lamb Biryani here!”
“So cheap, so fresh and so good. Easily one of the cheapest places to eat real food in Wellington. Definitely a must for students and backpackers.”
“Good portion size, relatively fast service, affordable prices! My new favorite place for bubble tea! Excelent quality Chinese food! Nothing to complain about. Nice and clean inside with a few seats but more of a takeaway place. Would recommend chicken katsu burger or BBQ pork chow mein.”
Malaysia Delights Riverside Kitchen keeps things classic fish‑and‑chips and focused on flavour. A riverside backdrop rounds out the stop. Fish lands crisp with light batter and chips stay tidy. Meals reach the pass promptly.
Noodle Canteen runs with a Japanese‑leaning menu and an easy pace. A family‑friendly feel comes through naturally. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. Broths and noodles keep good heat and snap.
“LOVE THIS PLACE. My favorite is the Hoki An Mee noodles. They are salty, tangy and spicy, with juicy prawns, beef and other meat. The broccoli and carrot, and onions also soak up the sauce, so when eating it melts in your mouth. They give very good veggie to noodle and meat ratio. My other favorites are their, prawn crackers, honey chicken (the chicken has a lovely rich honey coating which makes it taste like donuts) Nasi Goreng, a savory rice ( that is somewhat dry but very tasty) and Egg foo young which is savory egg dish, it comes with vegetables and meat in the egg mixture which makes a nice thick omelet. The staff are very welcoming, and always say hello with a big smile on their face. They always pack their dishes too the brim. My only negative thing I have to say is that the prices of the meals have come up to around $14.50 or more. This is expected though because of inflation. The other thing I tried was their dumplings. The soy sauce was rich and sweet, it seemed as though some honey was added. So good! The dumplings were crispy on the bottom and juicy when you bite through. Love this place! Been coming here for years, will never stop :)”
“Been looking for good s&s pork and this is terrific. Needs 6 chunks of pineapple but still good”
“Been going to them for a couple years now, to start with i will say the chips were a little overcooked 90% of the time but over this year they have been cooked perfectly (to me atleast). Its unfortunate that they had to up the price but its understandable considering this economy at the moment, still happily geting my food though dispite that. The people there iv found have been really nice aswell, ill usually go next door to pick up something to drink but usually after that it dosnt take that long for the food to be ready. Sometimes ill actually go once or twice a week since its a easy lunch or dinner option and is only just a 5 minute walk for me.”
“Best Chinese chippy in Dunedin! They also do Kiwi/English food and Indian curries. I gave atmosphere three stats because it's a takeaway. We normally get combo chow mein, chicken curry and chips, sometimes all three! Not wheelchair or mobility scooter accessible, but they will take an order and payment from the door.”
“Move over Maccas and Burger King. Wendy’s food is tastier and fresher. Can’t find any fault and staff don’t treat you like your an interruption to their whinging and gossip sessions. My new favourite fast food.”
The kitchen at SAI Eatery Havelock North takes a Thai-inspired path and lets the food speak. Curries carry clear spice and warmth. Service stays present without fuss. Tandoor notes appear clean and steady.
“Vegetarian options! Had a delicious lunch here. Two of us ordered Jasmine Tea, Twice Cooked Tofu, Stir Fried Potato & Capsicum, and a medium bowl of rice. We finished everything and felt good full, not too full. Their tofu is locally sourced! It was fried, puffy, soft, and soaked up sauce excellently. They have soy sauce, white pepper, and chilli oil available, too. The large menu offers Cambodian,Thai, Chinese, and some other cuisines. Lots of dishes non-Chinese people will know, and some you won’t! We ordered dishes from the Chinese menu and I’d recommend both. A Note on Meat — if you’re vegetarian or vegan make sure to ask for no meat, egg, and/or dairy. Not all dish names mention meat but lots of Chinese dishes often include meat even tofu dishes. The restaurant’s interior is the Shabby Chic I adore of Chinese Restaurants in New Zealand — lanterns, large tables with lazy susan’s, photos of menu items on the wall etc. Perfect!”
“We’ve been getting our Uber Eats here and it’s always been well packaged and the food is delicious!”
“Absolutely love this place. Would eat there every day if I could. They make the best chicken kebabs ever. Especially the young lady. Always very clean. Thanks heaps to the wonderful staff, and best of luck for the future.”
“I've been ordering fish and chips here quite frequently and I can't stop coming back, the food is just delicious and the food is ready much much faster than other takeaway shops, amazing food and amazing service and even better prices. :)”
“Every time I order the egg fu Yong and a $14 pack, it's always delicious. Close to where I stay and very friendly.”
“Love the food variety they have and their generous portions! Had their chicken curry combo with the chicken fried rice and it was the best. However only downfall, they included way too many potatoes and only 2-3 tiny chicken pieces; it felt more like a potato curry”
“I recently dined at Mint restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience! The crispy dumplings were not only fresh but also incredibly tasty. The filled roti rolls were a delightful surprise—fresh, flavorful, and filling. The restaurant boasts a great selection, and every dish I tried was delicious. Overall, a highly satisfying dining experience with a variety of mouthwatering options”
“70 years he dedicated his life trying to feed people he put up with all the negative racism and for that strong man his spring rolls are Devine love the food can't complain”
“Had a light lunch of three "shared" options. Everything was tasty and I felt good value. Coffee was good but only one cup size option. Service was excellent, some could argue saying the free water could have arrived faster. I give it a 5 as we will go back.”
“right, so I had an absolutely incredible feed, no complaints as they let me stack my plate super high. definitely took a few years off my life eating all this grease. Not really authentic Chinese, but I knew exactly what i was in for, that is why im rating it 5 stars.”
