   No protein in the vegan Pad Thai, despite costing the same as meat versions. So disappointing for $22. Not like the Aroy experience I usually get in Wellington.

   Today I ordered basic chicken which was supposed to come with rice. After waiting 10 minutes I got called over and told they had run out of rice so I had to have noodles. I asked what type of noodle but there was a bit of a language barrier so I agreed to the noodles. The noodles were the type for pad Thai and it didn't work well with the basil chicken which is supposed to be just a stirfry. While I was disappointed I let it go... until I saw 6 minutes later people were getting served rice! What on earth. I feel like I have wasted $20, which is already very expensive. I'm disappointed.

   Ordered Black pepper beef (medium hot). Came as stewed strips of beef with mouth burning hotness (extreme chilli). Hated it! The wonton soup was okay, but lacked broth flavour and salt.

   Got the Thai fried rice with chicken. Black pepper beef on rice, roti with curry and spring rolls. No food photos this as we dug in a bit too quick. The winner for me was the roti and curry. Children loved the fried rice. Most of the options had a vegetarian alternative. Nice and quick

   Ordered Pad Thai ( non spicy) and Basil chicken (mild). Pad Thai is really good while basil chicken is spicy for me but still quite nice. Waiting time is only few minutes. Food looks like a small portion but it's actually a generous serving. Will definitely come back.

   Aroy Express is not an express experience at all! It took me more than 30 minutes to get one order of pad thai! Not ideal for a lunch break if you have limited time. The food was not great either.
