I recently ordered the curry laksa and it was absolutely delightful! The flavourful soup was superb, and while the portion of noodles was generous, I found myself wanting more soup instead—especially after adding a note requesting no noodles. The kitchen went above and beyond and happily replaced the noodles with extra broth, and even surprised me with two cans of Pepsi. I really appreciated their attention to special instructions and the thoughtful extra touches. Fantastic service—will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place!

This was my first time visiting the indoor market stall, and I was overwhelmed by the range of choices available. We eventually settled on Malaysian food, and I have to say, it did a great job capturing a wide range of Malaysian flavours, including the curry dishes as well as popular options like the char kuey teow and the dumplings, which we also ordered. Not only was it mouth-watering, but it was also really good value for money. The portion size was surprisingly generous compared to similar experiences at other markets. There was a lot of good quality seafood in the noodles. The food was ready in around 10 minutes, which was much faster than we expected. Ordering was easy and done on the machine; there were also lots of discounts/specials available! I would love to come back here next time I'm in Ōtautahi!

This serve was actually very small in size, (picture is taken very closely). It couldn’t feel my stomach at all. With a price of $18:80. The serve was extremely small. There was no taste in the chicken. Fried rice lacked salt in it as well. I would never recommend any of my friends and families.

We ordered the laksa and chow kuay tew which is pretty much like chow fun in Chinese cuisine. Laksa - Decent ingredients and taste pretty good but it's not very authentic. It lacks of the 2 important ingredients: Shrimp paste and coconut milk. I mean it got coconut milk but not enough and the shrimp paste seemed to be absent. So it taste like curry soup instead. But it still taste good. Kuay tew - Not bad. Again, it's not authentic but as chow fun, it taste pretty good. Most importantly it has wok air 鑊氣, another word flame flavor. When they did a good job in stir fry, you can taste the flame flavor. The seasoning was also good and not too oily. Good job!

I had the seafood laksa from this cool little Malaysian store. Piping hot with prawns, egg , fish balls , tofu and noodles in a tasty creamy laksa sauce. The perfect comfort food for a chilly June Friday afternoon at the trendy riverside market. Thoroughly enjoyed. I’lll be back next time.

I am Malaysian and I will never recommend this place. The char kuey teow and fried rice was just terrible. Seemed like ingredients were just tossed into a wok with soy sauce and nothing else. Really, just avoid the disappointment.

quick spot in a modern food hall with a range of options. the Laksa was decent. no need to go out of your way to stop Here, but a reasonable option if you are at Riverside anyway. the price is right.

Lovely food, just went there for a quick meal and it was the most tasty and delicious Malaysian food I've ever had, probably the most authentic Malaysian food in Christchurch. Definitely recommend the Laksa and the Penang Fried noodle, the laksa was creamy and spicy just the way I like it. Same with the Fried noodles. Was going to try their dumplings, but I was full from the both meals... Will be back for more!

Not great food. Penang noodles and laksa were both flavourless. Penang noodles were unnecessarily oily (yet still no flavour…) Laksa broth tasted like bland watery curry soup and laksa noodles were weird textured vermicelli.
